When using CONT-C to exit out of FSX...

Featured Replies

After evoking the CONT-C to exit FSX, when you get to the screen asking if you wish to end FSX,...PAUSE for 30 seconds before clicking 'YES'. It seems that some .dll files are cleaning things up and/or are updating in the background. If you pause for that 30 seconds before clicking 'YES', you will exit normally with the fsx.cfg being properly written to and not CTD.If you have had this issue, then this will most likely end it for you.Cheers,

I agree with you, Mitch - I think this is a common issue. I almost never use Ctrl-C, though, but what I do do is to start CoreTemp at the same time as starting FSX, then, when launching a flight, or exiting - one can then see exactly how busy each proc core is: sooner or later, all will be quiet - then I hit the button. There are no failures when doing this. She launches properly, and exits properly every time.

That's a very good tip, thanks :( Alain from Montreal

------------------------------------------------------Thanks Paul for correcting my CONT-C to Ctrl-C. I should have used the proper and actual key name combo!Straight%20Face.gif Mitch

I have never had any issue with the <CTRL-C> exit for FSX and have the line <PROMPT_ON_EXIT=0> in my FSX.CFG file although it still takes a few seconds for FSX to clear itself up after I have exited.
