Waiting and Waiting at runway hold

Hi Ray,Yes the filestamps are the same.
That means the files were copied from your Win7 FS PC to your XP Radar Contact one if I've understood your system correctly.
The login prompt for the share concerns me as I have not been able to find the answer. Once I login then all is well. Not a big deal to click the share for a kick start but it would be nice to get it working without human intervention.
Is that trying to access the Win7 FS PC from your XP one? That is strange but providing the files have been copied I wouldn't worry too much. Have a read in the help about sharing with Windows7.More importantly, can you now get "line up and wait" or "taxi into position and hold" when holding short at the airports which were giving you problems?

Hi Ray,Yes xp accessing win7. Well I had to access the share from xp and go through the login. I am asking on a win7 forum but no replies yet. I could not find anything with help on-line. Well the issue is with hold short. My last two test flights were a runway hold. No problem there. I had to laugh at myself today as IFR is all new to me. I was being vectored into KPDX and told something to the affect of "When you get to the Marker". I actually got a little nervous Nail%20Biting.gif Funny how this psuedo comms can put you on the spot. Well, I did not have a clue what the marker was. The only thing I could think of was the outer marker but was not sure. Anyway I guess I need to take some classes. To top off my afternoon flight, Michelle (IYP) told me I needed to take flight school again. Not only once but twice (in a sweet voice of course). I said "Thank you" and she said "That's what I'm here for." All in all it was a nice afternoon as I had a smile on my face with the whole experience. Nice stuff! Thanks Ray for keeping an eye on me Big%20Grin.gif RegardsBob

Hi Bob,You might find it helpful to fly the tutorials if you haven't already done so. They are designed to ease you into the workings of RC. It sounds like you're enjoying RC which is what it's all about. I can't recall the outer marker thing of the top of my head. Ronzie might come to the rescue.Have a read through this topic on sharing between Win7 and XP. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-7/share-files-and-printers-between-windows-7-and-xp/

Hi JD,Not sure if you read the whole thread on this, but the login dialog does not care what you put in it, as long as you put something. The shares are set to "Everyone" with both read and write access. It has to be something about the protocol between XP and Win7. I bet if both were Win7 boxes it would work. What I am doing before I load all the FS stuff is to manually click the share and do the dialog BS then I am OK. Everything at that point has no issues with the network shares. I could not find anything that is remotely similar to what is going on here, but I do have a post on a win7 forum.Bob
