January 13, 201115 yr i have fsx acceleratorw7 i920 OC to 4.16gtx460 and 2x1terda harddiski have added for higher frame rates usepools=0aff=14 internal framerates locked at45TBM=400 due to lots of photoscenery. The problem is I cannot go higher than 4.5 lod radius i will have immideately thrown out the fsx( doesnot work anymore.)with settings 4.5 it all runs smooth.so obviously it runs on the edge.anyone a good suggestion? paula

Seems the usepools=0 tweak makes FSX unstable.Simmer had the same problem over here: http://www.simforums.com/forums/question-regarding-lod-radius_topic37870.html
January 13, 201115 yr Author If I remove usepools than i have to low fps and also little stutters. paula
January 13, 201115 yr If I remove usepools than i have to low fps and also little stutters.Seems you have to decide what's most important. Lod radius or fps? Why do you bother about fps? I only want a smooth FSX. I don't care if the fps is 20 or 30.
January 14, 201115 yr Moderator I don't understand increasing the default LOD from 4.5 anyways. I have always found that 4.5 (default) seems to be pretty equal to what "blurries" you would see anyway in real life when looking into the distance from the air. Take a look at this pic as example. When I compare a pic like that to anything I have taken myself when flying, the default LOD seems to be pretty similar to what I see in real life when looking into the distance without the aid of binoculars. After all, when you combine 20/20 to 20/10 eyesight, plus all the enviromental factors of real life with smog, dust and moisture in the air, then its not perfect anyway and you end up getting real world "blurries" when looking into the distance. January 14, 201115 yr Author I agree, sometimes we have to stop trying to make it perfectso i stick with 4.5also I was question myself why I could not get higherI understood it has to do due to the max of grafic card and cpu but on the otherhandI should have capacity enoughthat was also a reason to find out.anyway thanksdoeke paula
January 14, 201115 yr I don't mind 4.5 or 5.5 too much with default scenery, but with the UK VFR Real Scenery, it just looks horrible if I go much below LOD 8.5.It gets very very blurry.IAN Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
