Questions regarding ISD LIRF, LIMC, LIML scenery

Featured Replies

I searched the avsim forum and found a lot of people having issues with flickering textures in the ISD sceneries. My issue is the scenery looks fine when it comes ot the airport, etc, however with LIRF and LIMC I have big white boxes, kind of like when you dont have rwy 12 objects installed or certain tree files with some scenery. The thing is I dont anywhere where added textures are needed in the readme files of ISD. Anyone else have the issue? Also, for LIML, is there anyway to delete the static acft on the ramp? Thanks.Drew

Yes there is.It is clearly detailed in the readme.pdf file.John
Yeah i'm an artard....Thanks.Drew

I have mostly all of their sceneries and never had a problem. Regarding to your problem with white boxes, could you make some screenshots that are showing the issue?

Best regards, Steffen

Attached is the screenshot.... The only time I have seen this issues is if a texture is missing or something. There are alot of ISD scenery files for LIRF and LIMC on Avsim and fltsim.com so I am wondering if somewhere I may have had random files in my scenery/texture files, however I dont think so.

Oh, this problem. I do have the same and I don´t know why. Seems that some tree textures are missing.

I think it may be the old chestnut of duplicate scenery libraries, one of which has not got the full set of textures. FS will not necessarily be using the one in that particular scenery's directories. Have a look and see if you can identify from the file names which is the tree library and run a search to see if you can find others elsewhere of the same name. This system isn't infallible as some scenery designers rename libraries for reasons unknown. Alternatively, you could just disable that tree library which would simply eliminate those tress altogether.A popular solution is to copy all the textures into one of the main texture directories. Although this is often the easiest fix, I don't recommend it as you can end up with a load of files spattered around when it comes to perhaps uninstalling a scenery and replacing it with something newer.John

I think they are trees. I have the same problem. I thought you needed EZlibraries and/or rwy12 package? I'm going to find out.I suppose try downloading this the 2005 file. At your own risk install it. Of course you would run the update.

John,Are you talking about the tree library from rwy 12? Yeah it looks to be trees only as this scenery, as well as LIMC all the missing textures like this are away from the terminal, out in the open land, so it makes the most sense that trees would be the issue. i installed these as per instructions and I think LIRF had the .exe file to install it so thats y I am dumbfounded that some files could be missing.Drew

I'm not speaking about any specific tree library, because I don't know which scenery from the three in the subject line you are referring to. Or all of them? To be honest, I would doubt that sceneries of the standards of the ones you mention would use a standard library such as Rwy12 or EZ but it is possible. If you could say exactly which scenery that screenshot library applies to I could see if I am running the same scenery and look at the directory contents.John

Well I didn't think it would require rwy 12 objects, but I didnt know. What do you mean by the librarythe screenshot came from? I installed this scenery into the addon scenery folder under whatever I named the folders (not at my home pc right now) then had the texture and scenery files with the respective files in their folders. Maybe I put the wrong file in somewhere.
