Hooked on VATSIM !

Featured Replies

Well after alot of reading on the VASIM site and working out the bugs using Squawk Box I have done my first full flight on VATSIM. I must say it was a pain to get things figured out but WOW VATSIM totally makes you look at FSX in a whole new way. Let me first say if you want to try VATSIM you better know how to fly your bird and know it well or you will be very upset. ANother thing to know well which I am starting to get the hang of is how to read and use charts. One thing I noticed is that while flying VATSIM I almost never looked out the window as I was very busy planning my approach and paying attention to ATC. My flight was short (KATL to KTPA) so if on a longer haul I could relax a bit more and look out the window. I also like all the events they host with special airports being focused on per event and those airports are fully staffed with ATC (DEL, GROUND, TOWER, DEP, CENTER) Well I just wanted to post my first experience on VATSIM and hope you will give it a try. If you do try be patient and work thru the issues and you will be well rewarded.Jim or should I say DAL1104 :(

Today is a great day for flying :) KATL, KMIA, KDFW fully staffed because of the Cross the Gulf event. I'm AAL498 flying KATL-KDFW right now.

GratZ! I hope to be ready next month for Vatsim, I've been using MCE/RC4 for preps and think I could mange a flight. just have to find the time and zero wifey aggro to get my feet wet.
