Hi PMDG folks, I ´m posting this for a freind of mine who had posted this in the german language forum, but I think here will be a better chance to get this fixed. So here is the problem: Some time ago he bought the MD-11 as boxed version, but as the time went on he didn´t want fo fly her any more, so he deinstalled and sold it to a friend who installed it an now nothing is working. He gave me these two pic´s to show what he´s meanig. The 2D cockpit in entirely grey and the 3D has no avionics.The spec´s of the friend´s system: Windows 7 home premium 64 bit with 4GB RAMHe told me that he had FSX inside of the programme files (x86) folder and it worked like it should, so there might be another problem as the thing with the access.I hope someone has a clue, thanks for helping.Steffen

Never install FSX into the default folder that the FSX installer suggests. Better select something like C:\FSX or so. I suggest a re-installation of FSX. If that fails, re-install the entire operating system and keep your drivers up to date. Aside from this, I can only think of a hardware problem (old/problematic hardware,...).

Maybe in your case it is necessary to install the MD-11 again, too.There is definitely no need to install FS and all the addons beside the standard-folder if you're familiar with your operating system.

The only difference on this localization is the dialogue during installation. Therefore it shouldn't matter.;-) Btw., i forgot to mention it proper, if you run the MD-11 installer under the above written elevated circumstances again, a seperate installation of vc++ 2008 (x86 and x64) isn't necessary, cause they are part from the PMDG installation process, which the UAC most probably has prevented in your friends case, or he did say "no" when asked to say "yes";-)If he installed and activated it more then once or maybe on different PCs, he (or you) should contact PMDG via support-ticket:http://support.precisionmanuals.com/News/2/pmdg-launches-ticket-based-support.aspx

Your first friend did not actually have the right to sell the MD-11 to your second friend - read the EULA. The symptoms you are showing are the same as the ones you get when you do not sucessfully register the product. If you ask your second friend to submit a help ticket to PMDG they might be willing to help them but I wouldn't bet on it, and PMDG would almost definitly want something from your first friend to show that they knowingly agreed to the sale and promise to never use it again unless they buy another copy. At least that is what I would ask for if I worked for PMDG.You are also required to sign your full name to all posts on this forum.

EULA != LAW (in most cases it's a subjective view how law should be;-))3.) jurisdiction on the grounds of factual connection depends on where he physically purchased it (he wrote, he purchased the box and lives in Germany!)4.) The "Exhaustion doctrine" is part of the European copyright act (§ 69 c Nr. 3/2 UrhG) and doesn't exclude reselling physically purchased software on principle, but it isn't allowed to lease.5.) Even Microsoft failed to prevent the reselling of software in EU, generally!6.) Why do you think this is your business and not primary agenda from PMDG theirself? Hi Peter,the person you remember, posted in the german section at AVSIM first and got the hint to post this issue here.He went into trouble to translate the suggestions given here and and asked in the german section for any further help. The guy who posted in this thread just did the translation work for the guy you remember.
