Tugs push pull your aircraft?

Featured Replies

There is such an abundance of add-ons out there, I just don't know the answer. Can you have a tug push your aircraft back? And pull it around the airport?Daniel

Aerosoft AES will provide a tug to do pushback at supported airports (http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/iboshop.cgi?showd,,D10333). As for dragging the aricraft around the airport, I do not know of an add-on that does this. I have often thought it would be neat if AES had a 'move aircraft to parking' option where you could take the plane away from the gates etc after deboarding...Geoff

I agree totally about AES - whenever possible, I choose departures and destinations based on whether it's AES supported or not. And yes, I too wish Oliver could add some new features to it, especially cargo loading/unloading. For AI there was a developer from my native New Zealand years ago who came up with something he called AIS. It was an excellent series of AI aircraft (Boeings and Airbus) that had animations of tugs, cargo and baggage loading/unloading etc. They are freeware and still available. I just wish he had been able to share the "secret" with more freeware AI developers - it would really bring FS9 airports to lifeIan

Thanks for the very useful information :biggrin:Oliver is making a newer version of AES and can be seen at AES support forum,it has almost everything you expect. I think except for the towing the aircraft around the airport

Your are right Ian.I have got a number of BAE146 aircraft (Murchison models) with those features ,Cargo loading and unloading.Actually they are very nice models as well, and I am pretty sure the animations were called AIS .Just one thing though these 146s are not AI .cheers Andy

I didn't know his BAe 146 models had the AIS animations. That's very cool. I didn't download that model as I am a VC freak and it doesn't have one. But using the new payware tool AI Optimizer, DXTBMP and getting rid of the panel and sound files, almost any aircraft can now be made into a reasonable AI aircraft as long as you can keep the numbers under control and not get too carried away! :( (That would be me - self-confessed AI addict) Thanks for the heads up

Me too, am VC freak here. Won't fly anything but Level D 767, Pss 757 and 777, PMDG 737 (but not really that good). All paid for. By me.How is everything in NZ?Also I see the ANZ has got the 777s. Same config as Air Austral. I love the Cathay 777s where it is 3-3-3 config in economy, 1 less seat.Daniel

I assume your question about NZ is in reference to Christchurch and the earthquake, Daniel. The answer is things are very bad - far worse than most media reports have really communicated. The authorities have calculated a probable death toll based on who has been reported missing - it will be months before all the bodies have been found and identified and the real toll known. When all the aftershocks are over and the rebuilding begins, it will take probably ten years or more before the city is restored to something like normal. During that time the economic consequences are going to be horrendous - Christchurch is the country's second largest city and the major hub for most of the transportation system of the entire South Island, a huge loss of jobs with so many work places simply destroyed etc. NZers are a strong and self-sufficient people, but this is going to test our national character like nothing else since WWII

Not good news at all. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure the world will get behind NZ's tourist industry and head there to do some skiing. Shame about the Japanese who died.Daniel
