February 24, 201115 yr I've been spending more time with FS9 lately, mostly 100 mile flights at dusk, my favorite time to fly, and with a new atmosphere file it looks really good...anyway I was taking a baby Bus from Heathrow to Orly today and at 10,000 feet over France a small Cessna passed in front of my windshield about 100 yds away...scared the crap out of me.Heck, that's one reason I quit flying the real ones...too many close calls. But I always wondered if ATC would keep me separated from other birds in the air.Yowza!

I think Fs9 can't prevent this. Hoang Le i7 13700k - Sapphire Nitro+ AMD RX 7900 XT - Asus TUF Z790 PLUS D4 - Gskill Trident 32GB DDR4-3600 LG 34GP63A-B Ultrawide - ASUS VG259QM MSFS2020
February 24, 201115 yr Heck, that's one reason I quit flying the real ones...too many close calls.Yeah, been there done that :)Suggestions: fly something with a functional TCAS (or install the superb freeware one by Lee Hetherington). Fly on VATSIM/IVAO - ATC would nomally prevent such occurences.
February 24, 201115 yr Hello I use the Hetherington TCAS and this will warn you of aircraft that may be on a course to collide with you. As I don't fly with ATC anymore I can respond to the TCAS warnings to descend or climb without ATC nagging me that I am above or below my designated altitude.cheers Andy
February 24, 201115 yr About eight months ago I was flying a DA-20 Kanta out of KLVN. My flight path put me just southwest of KMSP. Although I had been looking around for traffic coming out of KMSP, I had a Northwest Airbus on final approach cross directly in front of me at about 200 yards. My first impression was WOW! My second though if this had been in the real world I still would have been in a world of hurt caused by the wake of the Airbus.Tom

Unless there's no other traffic around ;) Last time I did it on the VATSIM cross-the-pond event when someone ahead of me pressed their pause button.
