New Jamaica airport scenery?

Featured Replies

On the front page of avsim they are announcing a new scenery package that includes Sangster International (MKJS) and includes the missing ILS from FS2002, Norman Manley (MKJP) and Owen Roberts Intl (MWCR)Has anybody been able to get to the site? How does the scenery look? I would like to see this scenery but havent been able to get to the site at all.

That makes two of us.

I got to the site, but I haven't dowloaded the scenery yet 'cuz i'm still at work. It will be interesting to see what they have done though; I have always wanted to see my country's airports in FS (in fs2002 there was a scenery for MKJP, but it was never finished.) .

So this scenery is for FS2002 only? FS2004 only? Or is it for FS2002 and FS2004? How does the scenery look?

When I click on the link I get the dreaded "The page cannot be displayed" error.

In my own experience this happens with about half of the third party links that Avsim trumpet on their front page. Either the site isn't ready, it's inaccessible because of load or has run out of bandwidth because of all the hits and you can't download anything anyway.I certainly can't get a flight to Jamaica. In my own view (which being free, is worth what you paid for it) Avsim would do better not to actually proclaim anything that isn't hosted in their own library or isn't an Avsim partner or whatever, using Avsim bandwidth. Or at least, they should check these things out to make sure the site links function or will be able to cope with the inevitable rush to be first to download.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

I'm happy to see AVSIM's proclamations, because I can't be monitoring every site on the Web to see what becomes available. If it weren't for the announcement, I wouldn't have seen this one at all. Hopefully, this is just the standard bandwidth problem and if I get up before all the groggy late-nite simmers tomorrow I'll be able to download the files. I sure hope so, because I just got a new Bob Marley CD yesterday...

Yeah, but it does no good if you can't get to the file! LOL I agree with Mark, but it does help keep from searching the web. Maybe try testing the links first, then post! LOLI got to the site and found no clue of any Jamaica scenery listed or even anything for FS9, so we'll see. I was looking forward to checking that out, Bummer.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com

Howdy,It's listed under the Scenery drop-down menu. According to the ReadMe, all three airports have been designed specifically for IVACO's Jamaica FIR, and are for 2K2.O well! At least there is a good set of charts for MKJS available to download.

You have to download JAVA and install it to get their web page to work properly, I was automatically shunted through to the JAVA download page. The scenery is good and essentially works in FS2004 although at Kingston the taxiway connections seem to cross ponds without verges. I prefer Melichar's Montego Bay so have disabled the MB bgl's in the Jamaica scenery folder (put them in an isolating folder). Grand Caymen looks good.NigelVancouver

I would have downloaded it, but the JAVA file is a 14Mb download :-/ I'll wait until the file appears somewhere else :)
