Radar Contact

Featured Replies

I am having trouble with a large green line at the top of Radar Contact, when it first comes up. When I tell it to get the weather,it gives the weather then you can no longer get the text to come up, and I am at my wits end trying to figure out what the problem is......I am hopeing that someone can help........Thanks

I'll repeat the reply for convenience from the FS9 forum. Thanks for moving the thread here:Posted Yesterday, 11:22 PMHere's the quick answer:RC no longer uses the advdisp.dll in your modules folder. Rename it to advdisp.dlx in case you may need it for something else. All that is needed is shown in the RC window created by FSUIPC in the transparent blue upper area above the menus. Unless you are hearing impaired keep the RC option to display text off.If you just installed RC some helper applications need to be updated. Here's the links:----------------------Get the base FSUIPC version from:http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmland then interim update from the modules link on this page:http://forum.simflig...download-links/From that download link page under the Additional Programs link get the latest makerwys.exeFSUIPC now self installs initially based on your registry entry for your FS path. Check that with this free utility:FSX/FS9 Registry Repair Tool (36KB) from http://www.flight1.c...sp?page=libraryAfter getting FSUIPC installed and then makerwys.exe installed in your FS folder start RC and rebuild the scenery database. If you have both an FSX and FS9 installation two RC4 folders were created. Be sure you have two shortcuts for each RC version to its respective folder for each FS version. (VISTA and Win 7 users will want for each shortcut set its advanced properties to run as admin.) Rebuild from within each RC version the scenery database.---------------------If you have a version of RC older than 4.3 build 3843 (3845 has a few more voices) reply here on how to get an updated download.

I am not sure how to install makerwys, exe, also never had advdisp.dll show up after install,so was never able to size or station the text box.... tried to go to this web site http://forum.simflig...download-links/but could find nothing about makerwys.exe.....

If advdisp.dll is in your modules folder rename it to advdisp.dlx to disable it.The RC window is sizable and dockable. The current FSUIPC release is:"FSUIPC3 interim update 3.989y FSUIPC 3.989y (FS9)----Be sure to install 3.98 from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson before placing this into your FS Modules folder.FSUIPC4 interim update 4.664 FSUIPC 4.664 (FSX)----Be sure to install 4.60 from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson before placing this into your FS Modules folder----OR use this updated Install package Install Complete FSUIPC 4.638 and then copy in 4.664"For both position release notes are:"The size and position of each open FSUIPC display window (eg. for Radar Contact or the Lua display) is now saved in the FSUIPC INI file whenever the window is re-sized, moved or closed. Previously these details were only saved when the window was closed by FSUIPC (i.e. by Lua or the application or the "AdvDisplay" hotkey) or its state was changed (i.e. docked or undocked)."All references to advdisplay in the RC manuals no longer apply. The current FSUIPC/RC window can be dragged, sized, and docked using the right mouse key for most options. The current version of makeryws.exe is:Make Runways utility version 4.43 (for Radar Contact primarily) MakeRunways 4.43The page links are in the previous post.Makerwys.exe (works with both FS versions) after unzipping is placed in your FS9 or FSX folder. It is always executed starting from RC's scenery rebuild button (unless your pc's are networked) and unless you have a RC and FS on different pc's answer no to the widefs question and then when queried place your full path to FS in the dialog. My FS path for example is:"h:\program files\microsoft games\flight simulator 9" (don't use quotes)Please read the FSUIPC user manual placed in your modules folder that was installed from the base full versions as described for docking and other procedures. Wherever advdisp.dll is mentioned it applies instead to the RC window.(FS9 and FSX window options are slightly different.)

I found out what the problem was and fixed it, thanks for all the help.........

there are no extra voices between 3843 and 3845. i think 3843 was very shortlived, and doubt many people have that version.jd
