February 28, 201115 yr A couple of my new favorite addon planes have numerous repaints. Of course the one I like can only be seen and selected when "show all variations" is checked. Well, the screen is full of thumbnails off all the different repaints. Not wanting to sift through all these every time when I load up the plane, I was hoping to 'thin out' the ones I don't want and prevent them from appearing. Also the default MS planes and helicopters I never use...get rid of them also. I searched around and see no mention of this idea. Anyone know how or even if it can be done?ThanksHub John Hubbard MSFS2020 - Win10
February 28, 201115 yr yes, this could be done.Go to your aircraft.cfg in Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\YourAddonYouLikeToChange and open it with EditorYou see then there [fltsim.0]bla bla[fltsim.1]bla bla[fltsim.2]bla blaThe [fltsim.0] is always the first which is shown, means also wich is shown when "all variations" is unchecked. So, if your favourite paint is under [fltsim.3] then change this to [fltsim.0] ... and [fltsim.0] to [fltsim.3] ok? :biggrin:Some addons use several different models, like the A2A Spitfire. You will find then in every [fltsim] section also e.g. model=Ia or model=IIa etcEach model is shown as a separate aircraft in the FS preview Guenter Steiner -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 28, 201115 yr Either make the plane you want the 'default' or when in the selection screen, use the manufactors choice from the dropdown. Jay
March 2, 201115 yr Author Thanks guysTook only a couple of minutes to edit and saves me looking around each time I starrt up FSX.Strong work! John Hubbard MSFS2020 - Win10
March 2, 201115 yr Another approach to 'thin the herd' a bit...A user aircraft must have a valid panel referenced - strictly AI aircraft typically have NO panel. But if one takes the aircraft.cfg entries and makes a panel assignment to a non-existing panel such aspanel = offthe end result is the same; the aircraft disappears from the user list, yet can be 'restored' in a matter of a few moments: just re-edit the cfg file, remove the "off", save and reload aircraft.I've never really wanted 60 varieties of F-15 or F-5 or Tornado, etc., etc.Loyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
