Missed approach i didn't ask for

Featured Replies

I'm all set late into my final into Chicago. I'm at landing vref and flaps, glide slope capture and ATC tells me to contact approach where normally you get 'CLEARED TO LAND' or GO AROUND' so i hit the #1 key as usual to AK & contact but my (the pilot's) voice says 'MISSED APPROACH' but i don't want a missed approach. Why???

I think you mean you were told by approach to contact tower when you were on final. Perhaps you did but the you hit the key before the menu refreshed on the screen. As I recall you are contacted by tower twice. The second time is your final landing 'cleared to land'. I'd try that flight again. I assume you had the comms during the approach.

were there any snarking comments about liking his steak medium rare? if so, tower didn't see gear downif that's not it, it's possible there was a plane on the runway, though i try to curtail them from entering the runway. but if the scenery database isn't up to date, then i don't know where the runway begins or ends. so get the latest version of makerwys, install it into the root directory of fs. start rc, and click the rebuild rc scenery database.if this is reproducible, make a log, and send it to mejd

Once pausing to make sure screen menu refreshes and once hitting the #7 then #1 and if that doesn't work then i will try updating 'Make Runways'Thanks Guys.

I'd have to fly RC4 but once you've received the final 'cleared to land' an ack may not be required and the first item might be your request for missed approach. Please observe that for me.Here's your links for updating the various modules and applications:Get the base FSUIPC version from:http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmland then interim update from the modules link on this page:http://forum.simflight.com/forum/142-download-links/From that download link page under the Additional Programs link get the latest makerwys.exeFSUIPC now self installs initially based on your registry entry for your FS path. Check that with this free utility:FSX/FS9 Registry Repair Tool (36KB) from http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=libraryAfter getting FSUIPC installed and then makerwys.exe installed in your FS folder start RC and rebuild the scenery database. If you have both an FSX and FS9 installation two RC4 folders were created. Be sure you have two shortcuts for each RC version to its respective folder for each FS version. (VISTA and Win 7 users will want for each shortcut set its advanced properties to run as admin.) Rebuild from within each RC version the scenery database.

Must admit i did not check the menu window to see what item# 1 option was. After checking FSUIPC & updating Make Runways, i will take flight again and tet you know. Thanks.
