March 10, 201115 yr How does RC handle landing and departing from DCA and the white House Is across from the airport and is a prohibited area? Dont look like you can do a RWY HDG from RWY 1
March 10, 201115 yr Look at the DLDEE AND CLIPR stars. That will give you waypoints to use that you can use to vector you around the two R56 areas. Specify waypoints close to the airport west for runway 1 departures then heading as needed. If you specify waypoints within 30 nm you'll be expected to navigate on your own to get to the first waypoint after 30 nm out.I don't see any departures documented for KDCA.See what happens. My imagination tells me that real world vectoring might have a security pattern of the day issuing vectors away from those restricted areas.
March 10, 201115 yr Departure from DCA is very straight forward. Always you get vectors, which ask you to do left turn after take off. Then follow the river until cleared to waypoint along the way. DCA is tricky as departure often collides with SIDs and STARS of KBWI and KIAD, not to mention R-areas. Tom Link
