I did the correct procedure to X feed fuel according to the AOM and it doesn't work, please don't tell me you didn't model X-feed!Cheers

what? confirming? as the fuel tanks remain at the same level while x-feeding, the J41 doesnt feed from one tank to another (its not suppose too) its one tank to two engines and it doesn't work.

What I mean is, by default, the tank config is tank to engine. If you crossfeed, you're allowing fuel to feed from one tank to another engine, directly, so the level should not remain the same. How long are you attempting to crossfeed? Are you sure you're using the procedure of selecting the standby pump and then the crossfeed valve? Also, keep in mind that this is a light product, and not all features are implemented.

Right ya, I know its tank to engine in this plan and I followed the AOM exactly as it told me too + I also tried other ways and the I can confirm the Fuel X feed doesnt work in the JS41 which is a shame, I know it a lite product but come'on fuel x feed is just a given isnt it? They arnt planning on a SP fo this plane are they?

They are, but it's a last priority compared to the other projects, last I heard.Furthermore, being a light product, from what I remember, it's reliant on the internal FS models in some cases (AP, for example). Because of that, the logic regarding x-feed within FS may also be the logic in the J-41, and I believe the internal FS model uses tank to tank crossfeeding.

I can say for sure that the x-feed does workHad to sit for a while with one engine going because of a failed start on one (waiting for it to cool back down)...anyways after take off of course I noticed the difference in the fuel tanks so, cross feed switch on than one of the standby pumps on, went back to flying..before I knew it the imbalance was to the other side :)As mentioned above, there is no tank to tank, it will just feed both engines from one of the two tanks.

really? I know its not tank-to-tank but tank-to-engine. How many lbs did you x-feed and how long did it take, qhat procedure did you use (AOM)?Cheers

Well..I don't know that i followed an exact procedure, just opened the cross feed switch and turned on the standby pump of the engine I wanted to feed..So in my case I turned the Left Stndby pump on, which I think feed the Left engine from both tanks (the left tank was lower than the right because I usually start left to right...and for some reason the right didn't start)...anyways it wasn't a fast 'transfer' more like an uneven burn...I would guess that the right fuel tank is feeding both engines..maybe some is still being feed to the left engine from the left tank during this process as well..I think both values were changing, but in the course of about 5 minutes(?) the right tank was about 20lbs lighter than the left. So I reversed the switches for a few minutes. It was a couple nights ago so I don't remember the exact timing or amounts. I fly in it a lot however, I will pay closer attention to it this weekend..

Just an update, and I may have had it backward in my previous description:Cross feed switch open (will not open valve until one of the standby-pumps is turned on - than you can watch the valve display cycle open)Right Pump - pulls more fuel out of right tank than leftLeft Pump - same, but now from the left tankIf you are watching the gauge you will see one start to drop a little faster than the other - its not fast, and I think it would take about 5 mins at cruise power (96% RPM, 48-50% torque) to make a 200lb difference (or resolve a 200lb difference)Per the AOM can not land/take off with a 200lb or more difference in the L and R tanks.I think you would have to taxi on one engine a really long time, or have an engine go out in flight and be flying on one engine for a while, to make a 200lb difference. And I don't do any single engine taxing, its too complicated and sorry but buggy..to work these prop stop locks and stuff, better just to get both engines going at the same time (for me anyways.)
