April 9, 201115 yr there is now a fair amount of software available for fsx although not nearly as much as fs9 sadly , however times be hard and there appears to be a lot of duplication in what is available so where does one put ones money??I would like to purchase a 757 for my collection and a 767 but which one do I buy??? all have individually received reasonably admiring reports on avsim but just when you decide to select one to purchase one you read some very poor reports on one of the various forums that are avaialable.Isnt it time that avsim do some proper comparitive tests,of like on like, so that people can best select the version that suits their kind of flying more accurately?some a/c like those by PMDG emulate as best they can , a real simulator, whilst others are little more than an arcade game. I for one use fsx as a simulator (being a pilot) so realism is important to me , but others may feel that a/c simplified like those of aerosoft may be closer to their requirements and it is only by directly comparing products that the we the buying public can make an educated choice to buy the version that best suits them without disappointment. the manufacturers , i am sure, would be happy to go along with this idea as they have all produced a product with a certain client in mind, however constructive criticism frequently creates better products. It may also weed out some of the chaff because there are one or two people out there who have a high handed attitude to their clients if something isnt quite right so after sales service is also very important to quantify.so how about it Avsim?
April 9, 201115 yr The only 767 you need is the Level-D version!Avoid Captainsim at all costs. If you absolutely want a 757 as well, go for the QualityWings one. No comparisons needed. :( Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
April 9, 201115 yr The 767 is Level-D indeed, it's a clear winner, one of the top payware aircraft of all times. For 757 PSS had a reasonably good model, dunno if it's still sold officially, as PSS went bankrupt a while ago. From the current ones QW is good one, although some systems are simplified or not modeled, so it's not quite on par with the LEVEL-D.
