April 10, 201115 yr Library Administrator Good morning,Recently I have been noticing a siginificant lag in RC 4. Basically when the plane is in route, the miles that it shows on my plan can be somewhere up to 4-5 miles behind, which is a significant delay in clearences and whatnot. This has not always happened. Any ideas? Brian A. Neuman Proud simmer since 1982 using the following simulators: Sublogic Flight Simulator 1 and 2. RC clearly hasn't changed so the problem lies elsewhere.Additional software running at Startup? Change of hardware? New AntiVirus software? How recent is recent? Sorry if the question appears flippant. It isn't meant to be. :( Ray (Cheshire, England). I just didnt know if you were aware of any type of cache in the program or something along those lines that would need to be cleaned out. I guess worst case scenario is I will do a re-install. I wouldn't uninstall it yet. Try switching to a default aircraft and see if the problem goes away. If it does then the aircraft may be grabbing a lot of resources which could impact on RC.One program I love is CCleaner which cleans up temporary internet files but does a lot more too. If you don't have it try it but try a default aircraft first.RC has no cache as such so that won't be an issue. Ray (Cheshire, England). April 10, 201115 yr To speed RC4 performance in its options disable Display Text and Prerecorded Chatter (Just use AI Chatter and Interact with AI). You should have the latest FSUIPC installed as well.If you are an ASE user be sure you have the latest service pack installed to reduce its heavy load on your processor and Windows interprocess communications which can cause a delay with the FSUIPC interface to FS that is used by RC.If you use a weather program that can do it as opposed to using real-time weather download archived weather for your flight time and then disable your Ethernet port followed by ending any background security services to reduce load on your CPU if necessary.See if these ideas reduce your RC lag.
April 12, 201115 yr Hi Guys,I seem to recall that the Focker did produce lag when it is used alongside RC in FSX.What version of FS are you using and what operating system. The Focker old forum had many instances of this aircraft corrupting many a persons set upin both FS9 and FSX.Norman Norman Bowman

It can be a very modest one as its workload is minimal but the benefits of shifting programs away from the FS machine are considerable. You would need a WideFS licence of course. When you talk about using a second system for related software, would this include putting RC4 on another computer?Hi Brian,There's your answer then. Move all software related to FS to another networked PC and yes, this would include RC4. You could also include any weather program. if you look at my signature it shows what I run on two networked PCs. They're not new machines but can easily cope with the demands of the software.I'm sure you'll have no problems with another licence for RC given we've openly discussed the situation here.
