hey guys, about a year ago i upgraded from fs9 to fsx mainly because of the water. although i have had too many issues with fsx to count, i stuck with it because of the water effects. now, when i change the water slider in the fsx settings to anything 2.x , i get this ( see screenshot in attachments ) my question is how do i get my water back? i dont have any addons installed but this is what i have:-fsx acceleration-fsx water configurator P.S. i dont want to reinstall and i have tried restoring the water config to its defaultsPLEASE HELP! ~luca

I believe that in the water configurator there is a selection that you can go back to the original FSX default settings with the click of a button. You might have not gotten a clean install of the water configurator program and therefor are missing some of the files necessary to work properly. If using Windows Vista or Win 7 the UAC may not have let all the files install because of security issues. I use the program and have had no problems even with add on scenery. However I have installed the registry hack called "Take Ownership" which lets me avoid having the UAC decide what installs and what doesn't. Good Luck. fisheye

I have had this problem before. Are you using the shader 3.0 mod? I noticed that if I had the shader 3.0 mod installed then ran the fs water config program the water would do that. The only way I could fix it was to restore original shader folders manually. (The folder I am referring to is "Shaders HLSL" folder within FSX).

You stay with FSX because of the water but you don't have REX installed?DOH!!
