I have the same problem as others. With a new computer after loading RC4 (CD version), when I right click to run as administrator it defaults back to the enter code box. FSX, WIN7, 64bit.

Are you logging on as an admin? Just try logging on as yourself with admin privileges. Then use a shortcut to start RC with its security setting to run as admin. See if that works better than right clicking on RC itself.Your computer user name must be your registered user name when you ordered, maybe. If you log on with the admin account your user information is different due to the registry entries for that user.Let us know.If it failed to accept your registration did you include any '-' in the product identification if present when you applied for your key?

Seems RC may be close to a ver 5. Think I'll just uninstall and wait for 5. Hate to start messing with the new machine and do something that screws everything up. Have all the flight sims installed and working great. Think I'll just leave it that way for now. Thanks.

I think you need to straighten this out now. If you have this kind of problem you may have it with future versions of RC5. RC5 will not be free to upgrade from RC4 but some discount will be applied since it is revamped quite a bit with added features.I suggest you post your FS and Win version so we can give you meaningful support.Lot's of users here can make suggestions if they incurred the same response. You did receive a key by e-mail, correct?Your CD was a recent acquisition, correct? Did it install to an RC folder and then asked for your registration? If so right click on the .exe installer, select proprties, and respond with your version number here.

First of all, thanks for the help. Here's what I did today.Uninstalled RC4. Reinstalled RC4. After installation I do get a message "FSUIPC4 Installer for FSX" "Your FSX installation is not suitable for this version of FSUIPC. You may need to install an update from Microsoft". (Apparently RC4 is trying to load FSUIPC version 4.070. I just check OK.WIN7 Home Premium 64 bit (Came installed.), Intel i7 CPU, 12.0 GB Memory, 2TB hard drive.FSX w/SP1 and SP2. FSUIPC4 version 4.70. Radar Contact CD 4.3 w/last key emailed to me.Radar contact loads into C:\Program Files (x86) RC4, with componets: FS X Full-RCv4.3, FSUIPC, chatter, pilot and controllers.Wonder if I need a new key since this is a new computer.

If you install RC on a reformatted drive or new computer you will need a new key. If you are using the same e-mail address you ordered the CD from the automatic response system should work for you. If not you'll need to send an e-mail to [email protected] with your user name and former e-mail address, plus your new product code including any '-', so support can generate a new key for you and update your records. Be sure jdtllc.com is allowed through you ISP and PC spam filters for e-mail.I would also check before requesting the key your registry entry for your FS path. See the link on FSUIPC updates at the forum head on where to get this free utility. You'll need to run that as admin. FSUIPC installs first try to find your FS path from the registry.Once the RC installation works from those links get the latest FSUIPC and makerwys installing them after RC. Then run RC and rebuild the scenery again. Remember to use a shortcut to RC with its property set to run as admin so it can get to your FS folder and all scenery files. When rebuilding the scenery database if RC is on the same PC as FS, answer No to the WideFS question and in the path request box enter the full path to your FS installation. I keep a text file (Notepad or Wordpad) on the desktop containing my FS path so I can copy/paste it in each time it may be requested.

Just spent over 4 hours with this thing and it still goes back to the registration box. DID get a new number. Just frustrated since I have had Radar Contact for many, many years. Worked OK, on the WIN7, 32 bit system on my old computer but just won't activiate on this new one. ALL other add ons are working perfectly. The "Repair FSX registry path" does not seem to do anything even though the correct path is indicated.

Forgot to add. "makerwys" loaded, runs but then gives the error message "Failed to make runways CVS files and Failed to make FStarRC RWS file". "Total airports =0, runway =0"

OK, after all the messing around and shutting after my last post I just rebooted to try again and it LOOKS like it is now working? At least the start page is up but I don't have time to enter a flight this evening. Will try a flight in the morning. ??????????????????????????????????????

there is 3 things that will cause the registration screen to reappear1) you sent the wrong product id, or you pasted the wrong key. the product id is on the registration screen. if there is a minus in front of it, then it's part of the product id that you have to send in. if the product id has changed (and it will have changed, since this is a new computer), you can't paste a key that you've used in the past. the only key that will work, is the one i send you, which is based on you correctly sending the proper (minus sign if there is one) product id2) you are not running as admin. i don't know how many times people will tell me that they sign on as administrator - that's not the same as running as admin. signing on as administrator means you are have lowly user access rights. that's part of windows 7. same thing, if your user account is a member of the administrators group. doesn't matter, you log in, and you have user rights. you can only run rc on windows 7 (and vista), by right mouse clicking the .exe or shortcut, and clicking run as administrator. (you can also change the compatibility options to do this).3) when you paste the key, you have extra characters at the beginning and/or end of the key. paste just the key, no extra spaces.if you still have trouble, email me a screen shot of the registration screen, with the product id, and the key i sent you pasted into the key box. make sure i can see both fields in the screen shot.jd

there is a link at the top of the forum, which has the links to where the latest fsuipc and makerwys are. download both of them, install both of themjd

Gosh. Went to do a flight this morning thinking everything was OK and as I loaded the flight I got an "Run Time error 713." With all this garbage going on I'm starting to think it's not worth the trouble. I see there are posts on the 713 message but this should be a better product then it is. Hope RCv5 addresses these problems.Guess I'll keep trying until I get so fed up I throw it away.

I'm attaching a link to the FAQs which includes one for the 713 error. This relates to a missing or unregistered file. That's all. Follow the instructions and you should be sorted. RC has been out for a few years and has been thoroughly tested so this type of problem is usually related to a user's machine and not the product.http://www.jdtllc.com/FAQ.htm#29

There are quite a few security applications that will prevent RC from getting to your document folder and accessing via internal processes FS folder and sub folders, especially if FS is installed under a Program Files folder. In these security applications frequent accesses to an application installed under Program Files or downward in the tree is considered a trojan or virus unless it is specifically set to trust RC fully as set by the user. That is one of the things that heuristic technology may do as featured in Symantec, Kapersky, and others may do issuing a 713 or 75 error. As an administrator you need to go in and set trust settings for RC5 and also you must be going in as an administrator to install and register .dlls that are not present. As Windows advanced versions certain default .dll files were left out and these files need to be installed in the correct Windows folders and registered within Windows.Note that some users had to reboot Win after doing all of this work.If you are unhappy in trying to get RC to work because of all the safeguards built into Win and security programs send an e-mail to [email protected] requesting a refund providing your purchase details. There is no sense holding on to RC4 as a placeholder for RC5 and you may have the same issues installing RC5 and some other programs.

Alternatively, uninstall RC4 from C:\Program Files and install to C:\RC4. It should help with Windows7 overprotection.
