April 29, 201115 yr Hello everybody,I can't see no more water (where is suppose to be water) and all terrain looks grey. Any idea what could cause that? Many thanks Real Deraps
April 29, 201115 yr Maybe your terrain.cfg file got corrupted. It's in the FSX root folder and seems to define how e. g. "water" looks, from the texture side. The header of that file (you can open it with a text editor) may look like this.[General]DefaultTextureCount=383AutogenCount=14//------------------------------------------------------------------------// Constants//------------------------------------------------------------------------[LandClasses]Sadly, I don't know how to repair stuff there, but some addons check and refine all entries there, so maybe they can help. This could be one cause of your missing water.I usually backup that little file from time to time since I had some trouble with those entries some time ago.

Many thanksThe first thing I would ask you Real is, what have you added, changed or done to FSX or your computer from the time the water worked until now?Have you done any shader mods? Changed video card drivers? Disabled Ultimate Terrain manually? If the water was fine one day, then not the next and you haven't done anything different to FSX or your system, then I would look toward your system as far as any overclock, heat or video card problems that may have cropped up. April 29, 201115 yr Author Thanks for replying. I've had a look at the terrain.cfg file and last modification was on april 26th (the day i installed Cushman Meadows from ORBX.) I almost have all ORBX sceneries installed and i've never had that problem before and as you said i really don't know how correct it now.Best regards Real Deraps
April 29, 201115 yr The Orbx installation works with exchanged files there, so you have a backup, done by the Orbx app which switches between the modes.I suggest to jump over to the Orbx forums. If the support guys get you there, they will surely help and may also point you right at this mentioned backup file or even explain the needed entries for "water" to you.Maybe a small work with the FTX Central app does the trick, try switching the modes. But they are the pros, my stuff is just guesswork although the terrain.cfg thing looks like the most obvious explanation to me. Maybe you can include some screenshots over at Orbx' to allow some better judgement.

I've had few CTD last few days when flying over PNW. I doubt that my video card heats too much or is dying. I've installed Cushman Meadows on the 26th and London City VFR yesterday but I've noticed this issued only this afternoon. All seemed ok before today except i noticed that frame rates were lower that usually. (really lower). Thanks for you help and sorry for my bad english. Real Deraps
April 29, 201115 yr No problem, but I didn't help so far, the Orbx guys surely will. Don't forget the screenshots, they will help to help you.And never apologize for not speaking or writing this or that language perfectly. Seems like a bad habit to do this in forums and, be assured, I'm a "foreign" guy too, having no trouble understanding your words.Hoping for your system to work fine soon. :(

Like Cool mentioned, I would go to the ORBX forums and mention it to them and see what they say. It could be something as simple as the scenery insertion point you use for your ORBX entry or a conflict with UTX if your using that and have ORBX layered incorrectly, or of course a terrain.cfg problem. In any regards, it should be easy to fix.Dont worry about your english. We can tell what your saying with no problem. Keep in mind if you want to use Franch or any other language, Avsim has multiple forums for different languages if you feel more comfortable using your native language. April 30, 201115 yr Hello everybody,I can't see no more water (where is suppose to be water) and all terrain looks grey. Any idea what could cause that? Many thanksKnown problem if you have Ultimate Terrain installed. It usually happens when you install another scenery program after UTX. All you need to do is start up the UTX config program, let it do its thing, then close it. Problem fixed.Best regards,Jim
