May 1, 201115 yr I have recently purchased the boeing 737-800/900 series and I am being faced with one major problem. I can't get the autopilot to engage. I have run through the overhead panel startup, programmed the FMC, done everything that I could think of, but when I go to engage the autopilot, the two little lights don't light up, and none of the autopilots/autothrottles start to work. What is it that i'm doing wrong? All feedback is much appreciated!Spiritwo

May 3, 201115 yr Is the flight director switch on?Is autothrottle? What part of the autopilot are you trying to engage? LNAV? VNAV? FLCH?Is the correct altitude set in the MCP window?Too little information to go off of.Also, I'm sure you've read the manual, especially the section about the autopilot and what elements must be present/true for operation to be successful?
