May 19, 201115 yr Hi guys, I am thinking about replacing my 3x24" (1920x1200) monitors with 3x40" (1920x1080) lcd tv's. I can imagine the immersion being a lot better in some areas but I have a few questions if there are any people out there doing something similar! I am worried about how good the image will be. Sure, it wont be a crisp as my monitors but will it seem fuzzy or give me some sort of eyestrain after a while trying to get a focus that I will never get. Also, does anyone use trackir on large screens like this? Does it work well? Does it induce any ill effects, like feelings of vertigo etc, with such a large screen panning around. I dont suffer from that at all but who knows when things get very large.. Any cons I have not thought about - other than power bills? :)Thanks!
May 22, 201115 yr I'd also like to hear peoples thoughts on this?I'm looking at upgrading monitors and not sure weather to go with a 27" BENQ Pc monitor at 1920x1080 or a 32" TV at 1920x1080p. Wondering if the TV might still look a little blurry?Kael Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs
May 22, 201115 yr Author I couldn't get any other information but I do know someone who runs 3 46" 1080p tv's using eyefinity. He thinks it is great and is an avid flight simmer, here is a link to his set up workinghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTkB3anjoP0He is very impressed with it. In my part of the world the 46" tv's are a bit too expensive and I need them to be a bit closer to me to save on space. I ended up getting one 42" 1080p LG to test things. I am more than happy with the quality. I thought it might be blurry but once connected to the PC _properly_ so that it was using a 1 to 1 pixel mapping and no processing on the tv is looks very good. In fact from my short amount of testing it looked like the landscapes had improved but the aircraft and instruments were still crisp. I picked up two more based on that but I have yet to hook them all up. Eyefinity really changed the way I did my simming (racing and flying) but I think this is going to change the immersion level again. From the distance I will sit, with the side monitors at 45 degrees I will have around 170 deg fov. I cant wait now. The wife doest know. I will also be in trouble.I did make a few sim items for some other people recently, enough to pay for the monitors so hopefully I will get off lightly.
May 29, 201115 yr I have a single 50 incher in 3D and a touchscreen similar to the video. I am going to buy 2 more 50 incher's and have them in a box shape and use those for my direct left and right views. Keith Sandford.
