May 19, 201115 yr Hello everyone,Well, I am finally making the move to FSX in preparation for the PMDG 737NGX. I have just began browsing around for freeware scenery for the airports I frequent the most(SWA routes mostly) and must say I hope I'm missing a great site somewhere because I don't see very many freeware versions of any of these airports - at least ones comparable to FS9 freeware anyway. Is this true? Is this one of the biggest reasons so many people have stayed with FS9 for so long? I myself waited just because I was happy with FS9 and all the add ons I have and wanted to wait til the price of pc's that could run FSX came down into my range. That and I wanted a great 737NG. Can anyone recommend good versions of airports from the Southwest Airlines route system - preferably freeware but if I have to start paying to get good airports, I will? Thanks for your help.Kevin Regards, Kevin LaMal "Facts Don't Care About Your Feelings" - Shapiro2024
May 19, 201115 yr I don't think you'll find many freeware airports for heavy airliners in FSX. I very highly recommend Fly Tampa's Chicago Midway; it's superb...but you have to buy it. Curt Branch
May 19, 201115 yr Not a ton of freeware (quality) airports for FSX.Like the other guy said, anything by FlyTampa or FSDreamteam, but both of those are payware. FlightBeam also makes a nice SFO rendition.There's a few FSX freeware gems but nothing like there was for FS9. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

If you buy the Deluxe Edition and Acceleration addon, you'll get even more! For a full list, check out this link from Phil Taylor, the former lead developer for FSX - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ptaylor/archive/2008/06/25/high-detail-feature-list-and-then-some.aspx. Plus, for the most part, FSX is backward compatible with FS9. And, if you own a commercially developed airport from FS9, many can be upgraded to FSX for free or for a very modest price. I think you'll find the list pretty much covers all the areas SWA flies in and out of. And don't forget all the excellent freeware airports for FSX developed by users here in the AVSIM Library!!!!Best regards,Jim
