Judging by the release dates of previous versions I doubt that will happen:FS 1 Late 1982FS 2 ? 1984FS 3 Mid 1983FS 4 Late 1989FS 5 Late 1993FS 5.1 June 1995FS 6 (FS95) Mid 1996FS 6.1 (FS98) Mid 1997FS 7 (FS2000) Late 1999FS 8 (FS2002) Oct 2001FS 9 (FS2004) July 2003FS 10 (FSX) October 2006
It is correct that MS FS 1 came out in 1982. However, FS 1 from Sublogic, the company started by Bruce Artwick (the guy who created FS) came out in January of 1980, for the Apple II.And speaking of Bruce Artwick, he's featured in this very interesting video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUCT0MobR6E

Priceless video! Thanks por posting!Cheers,- jahman.

Great video.

As an artist, I agree with the interview in that we have gone about as far as we can go with GFX. You can only improve on the last itteration so much before the workload gets to the point that your spending a year per aircraft or more, for very little improvement. I think the future is more internal features then external. The cost of a moving seat (they are out there) is way too expensive for the average user. MS simply cant spend millions of $$ on a sim that caters to a few hundred people. I would love to see a mix of Kinect/TIR or some sort of quasi VR over a moving seat. That way its accessable to a LOT more users. Even the new 3D screens comming out is another direction! But, this is way off topic. Flight will be done when its done, and im willing to wait for it. I never could get into XP#. It was just way too complex for a sunday pilot like me, and the visuals have always been sub-par. Some of the things they are doing in 10 are interesting, but im less interested in water reflections and driveways on houses then I am on how the cockpit looks and aircraft feels, since being a flight sim, thats what im going to be dealing with the most of the time.

My first reaction was "Hey, who's the old dude?". Then I realized my hair is the same color... Takes me back to the stone-age, not that I'm a dinosaur or anything. :(

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Try 57..... XXXX happens, even to the brilliant ! Personally I visit the Greek every other day or so.... :ph34r:Great video !!!Bob

Little but good news i think, a 2012 release indicates that this is not just a cheap FSX update they are working on.

Thanks for that great video, it brings back a lot of great memories.
