Validation Problem

I just built a new pc and am migrating from FS2004 to FSX.I am trying to install FSX 747-400, 747-8, and MD-11.When intalling, I enter my e-mail address, orderid, and password, then click validate button. It stays on the validation screen forever and is not validating or getting through.Ryan, has also been trying to help me.I have looked at Windows Firewall and my antivirus software, disabled all of themand still the same thing keeps happening.I cannot figure out why I cannot validate my products for FSX.My computer specs are listed in my signature below.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Has anyone had the same issue? FSX Service Pack 2 is installed.Help!!!!!!!!!!!!I really want to get this to work and be ready for the 737NGx when it is released. Thanks

Well, are you sure you have the FSX products? Some of the PMDG products are for FS2004 only and I think if you want to have it working in the other sim, then you need to own the FSX versions. Maybe you want to check if you have the correct versions.

Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!

That's an odd problem you are describing. Just to make it clear, the FSX installers won't work with keys from the FS2004 versions. If you are certain that you purchased the FSX versions of your products and have valid keys, maybe there is still a connection problem going on. Here are some random hints that might help.

  • Are you online using a router? If so check the settings for blacklisted IPs.
  • Try to plug your network cable directly into the line socket to circumvent the router and try to validate again.
  • Disable any software that is capable of blocking traffic to and from certain IPs, such as firewalls or IP blockers.
  • Make sure to run the installers as Administrator.
  • Check the Windows Event Log for any hints and errors

What was the result of your support ticket?

I have tried that too to go around the router.I can't find a list of blacklisted IPs nor to I know where to look.I use Trend Micro for Internet Security. This is frustrating and a pain in the rear.I really don't think it is a problem on my end.Is it a possibility that the PMDG server is not accepting my validation or IP?I am going to be extremely unhappy if I have to go and by the CD version of my products just to make things work.

If the PMDG server rejects your key, the installer should say so. Ask Ryan for the IP of the validation server and try to ping it to elimate connectivity problems as the culprit. When I bought a game on Steam a few weeks ago I couldn't validate it either, because there was a database error on the activiation server.Edit:Ah, that's odd. I tried to ping precisionmanuals.com and it didn't respond. But I can access the website just fine.

Did you say you just tried to ping the validation server and it did not repsond, if I understood you correctly. How do I ping an IP address? Thanks, Alexander

I just tried pinging www.precisionmanuals.com.No reply at all."Request timed out" four times with 100% loss.Is this a possibility as to why my products will not validate? Thanks

Perry - that's definitely a problem, if the server isn't pingable that means you can't get through to it at all. Check the last ticket reply I sent you, we'll try to figure it out that way.

Are you sure your servers respond to ping requests, I'd be surprised if they do, most are configured to not respond to them. No they don't I just tested it.

Cheers, Andy.

Glad it was sorted Perry. I haven't installed AV yet, so that can't be why I am having same problem. Turned off windows firewall as well. Looks like I better throw Ryan a Ticket.
