May 29, 201115 yr Is there a way to start your flight with a default view of 60%?also,for some reason I have lost my ability to 'minimize' FS...in other words, my display is now full=screen until I hit the 'alt' key...tks!!!
May 29, 201115 yr Alt+Enter should let you switch between full screen and windowed mode. You can change the views in the config file or define custom 'camera views', which in fact the payware EZDOK is good for, but frankly, it's not that hard to shift the view anyway, so I never bother.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 29, 201115 yr Open the aircraft.cfg for the plane you want to change, look for the [eyepoint] section and make your changes there (VC only). Jay
May 29, 201115 yr Is there a way to start your flight with a default view of 60%?Yes. Start your flight with default Cessna 172, on the airport of your choice. Set everything you like that's gonna be your default flight. Including your 60% zoom in any view you like. Including external.Do not set other aircraft. This is going to prevent many troubles. Then save the flight as Default and check the box make this my default flight. That's it.Next time you start your sim, you can choose your aircraft as you wish from the startup screen, also airport, it will load that aircraft with 60% zoom.
May 29, 201115 yr Just make sure the aircraft you use for your default flight does not get modified or removed or FSX will crash upon loading. What I mean is: I keep my folder clean by moving the planes I'm not using over to a folder named "Hangar" in order to load FSX somewhat faster (probably only fooling myself on the load times). The only planes in my FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes folder are the default aircraft plus the one I'm flying at the time. So if you choose to make a non-default plane your default flight, do not move it out to "Hangar" or otherwise modify the "title=" line in that plane's aircraft.cfg.
May 29, 201115 yr Oh, and make sure your Cessna 172 is powered up, engines, master avionics and fuel pumps are on.
June 2, 201115 yr If that happens, go to your fsx.cfg file and look for a line like this;SITUATION=C:\Documents and Settings\John\My Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\Unk This is the path where all the flight data for your default flight is stored."SITUATION=" This will get you started John
