  1. Uhhh, Damian, does this mean I need to research WMI problems and find a fix myself or will this bit of info dribble down to Dave and the ticket he's working on for me? John Bell Ticket ID: WMQ-746-15214
  2. vernon; I happened across it by opening my present version and it gave me the choice to upgrade (It just now did the same. Present version (new) 2.4. John
  3. When you need a .pln.you use the Flight planner to load a .pln in .xml When you load a saved flight it will be a .flt John
  4. The .pln files need to be in .xml. You can convert with PlanG. Open your pln files, then saveas FSX. That will write them in .xml. Now they will show up. John
  5. If that happens, go to your fsx.cfg file and look for a line like this;SITUATION=C:\Documents and Settings\John\My Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\Unk This is the path where all the flight data for your default flight is stored."SITUATION=" This will get you started John
  6. Ant, sometimes another AP is lurking out of sight. I.E., V/C. Look in your aircraft panel.cfg [Virtual Cockpit] and comment out any instances of A/P.Might work!!!! Might not!!!!John
  7. Well David,it's like this. I've just spent the better part of the last three hours trying to deal with Flight1 (They have the download wrapper thingy)Seems even though I've purchased, I believe about 15 or so pieces of software through them in the last several years, now it seems my email address is phony. This after all the info boxes came up with all my correct physical address, phone number and two instances of my email address, all this stored on their server. So whats wrong with this picture? Flightsimtools.com very well may be an excellent company with an excellent piece of software, but alas, with Flight1's ineptness I will never get the chance to try it. So if you can get through then maybe you will review it for me!!!John
  8. After using editor to change the paint texture, close the editor. Now you may preview the work you have done. If satisfied, under File/Save, it will ask you if you're sure you want to write over the textures. (These will be the textures you originally opened to paint--edit)These textures reside in your aircraft/texture file. Open FS and it should be changed. Looks like FS Repaint temporarily saves files in it's Root Folder as .fsr files.John
  9. Search in Avsim library for AFCad2. When your rway changes have been made, look in FS9 main folderModulesFSNavigatorBinFSNavDBC.exe and it will rebuild its D/Base from FS9 data.John
  10. Something I don't understand about this. I've been using ASV 6.5 with FSX for sometime now. Works excellent. Is there some kind of new weather I haven't seen in the last 68 years? Is this new ver enhanced for Vista? 64bit? Duo Core?John

LOL,,Right Stoopy,, thats why when I read your post where that folder was really supposed to be I moved it back, and all is right now. Should have known Christians installer put folders in the right place.John

Yep,, same here. No Photoreal folder in my FSX. Found it in Microsoft Games though and moved it to FSX. Clear.bat is there.John
  13. Jim I have something similar. I tried unstalling ASV6 but the uninstall would hang (this program not responding) Tried un-installing via the add and remove control panel but nothing there either,Also, LOL, I can't find my registration numbers. Wow,,what a day huh. Sending attachment with error code.John Bellhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/148581.jpg
  14. When you right click on desktop and select properties/settings/right click on your little monitor icons and make sure one of them is set for primary John
  15. You might check your aircraft.cfg file under [Autopilot] VS and set your VS speed to 700fpm or so. Also check your .air file, it may have the same statement to change. I think sometimes that setting tries to over- ride the trim adjustment that you set manually in autopilot.John

"I believe they are actually there, John. They are very, very subtle and I presume coded to the model. It takes a sharp eye and the pitch-black of night to see them come on."Heh, Brent thats what it is,,just too dim for these old eyes..LOLJohn

I've been enjoying your craft for long time. And it would be a real chore to say which is my favorite. I guess I really like all of them.John Bell
  18. Yeah Jim, that what I did. Installed ok then. I was worried that ASV had made a needed change in Weather.dll. The old file ,I guess, was a bit corrupted. Installed ok..Jim,,thanks for the quick reply,,you fellows have an amazing track record as far as service goes. John Bell
  19. Trying to install FS9.1 upgrade. Hangs on the Weather.dll Then gives error dialog box. Can't install 9.1 upgrade. No other explanation. I gather ASV changes the original Weather.dll file? Any one know off hand where and what disc that weather.dll file is located so I can install the original. Then what? Do I have to reinstall ASV6? or can I save the Weather.dll file now and re-install it after upgrade? Also I have FSMetar. Can't remember, but I don't think it had to be installed.John
  20. Hey Bob. Thanks so much for your help. I'm getting too old for this stuff. I changed your string to this and it worked great. We were all so close but not quite there. (A:ADF Radial:2,degrees) Strange,,I left your string intact and it worked right away for ADF1. Got some strange readings for ADF2 though. Changed that little bit and it's working. Thanks again Bob and Roman. What would we old senile seniors do without all you bright fellows.John
  21. Still no joy roman. I have a digital heading readout for ADF1 but its coded in C++ and I made a Dual ADF Tuner so therefore need this xml string for the ADF2 to work also. See the attachment. Thanks again Roman for taking the time to help.Johnhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/138631.jpg
  22. Uhhh Roman, hard to believe, but I get the same readings as I had. It gets sort of a course deviation. If the reading is 181-360 have to subtract from the true course. If it's 0-180 then add to true course. John
  23. %(360 (A: Plane heading degrees gyro, degrees) (A:ADF Radial:1,degrees) + dnor near d 0 == ?)%!03d!Could someone please redo this string for me to read magnetic bearing to station? Thanks ever so much in advance.John
  24. Is there any way ASV6 will load .fsn plans short of exporting them into FS9? (which converts them to .pln)John
  25. Thanks for the reply Chris. I had all the 2004 settings set like that except for the (Clouds percentage slider set to 100%) I also setup ASV6 Like Jim had suggested in another post. Anyhow. The clouds are great now. Johnhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136769.jpg
