Unusual Airport problem

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.Ive come across a problem of which ive never encountered before whilst building airports etc. There is a runway at Perth Airport (ypph) Rwy 06/24 by which the AI aircraft from the runway 24 end takeoff on the grass, yet at the 06 end they takeoff from the runway as normal.I would have thought if a problem existed with a runway then they would of taken off on the grass from both ends, not just from one.I did modify the taxiways, introducing new ones at both the 06 and 24 ends. Im not sure if this is the problem as ive rarely taken off from this runway.I havent modified the runway itself in anyway.I used ScanAFCAD and there are no duplicate AFCADS.Im stumped. Can anyone help?

If the plane continue to take off from the grass, you can try to delete the starting point.

Best regards, Steffen

More information is needed. Which flight sim are you running? What do you mean, they 'take off on the grass'. Do you mean their take off run is on grass parallel to the 24 runway, or do they over-run on to grass before becoming airborne? Can you specify which AI planes are affected? Did you use the Fault checker in AFCAD? Did you modify the Perth stock scenery, or was this an addon scenery. John

Ive managed to solve it thanks. The link type i had between the holding point and the runway was a "runway link". When i changed it to "apron route" then the aircraft lined up as normal. It explains why the aircraft took off as normal from 06 (which had the "apron route") and not 24, which took off and had the entire takeoff roll on the grass. Thanks
