Lost my 3D models?

Featured Replies

My aircraft stopped displaying in FSX \Accel. All of a sudden I open my sim at my default and the 2D panel displays allright v/c cockpit as well...But when I go outside to see my plane it isn't there...All I see is the beacon and navigation lights. I had installed Adictive VC-10 with new update and since this happens? I unsintalled the vc-10,to see if this would help? But no! I have tried a system restore in win-7 deactivated my antivirus as it gave me hessage that system restore hadn't been succesful because of the antivirus...I deactivated again and got the same message?I would hate to have to reinstall FSX\Gold\Accel.Any suggestion...Please...Bernardo

DX10 preview selected?
Gliderdriver, thanks for your reply! I have Google and come to the conclusion that it could be a DX issue here. I Have FSX\Gold\Accel. For the life of me I can't find the DX preview buttom?Neither under settings in the start menu or in setting/display once the sim is running on the top menuWhere is it?Bernardo

If you look under Settings-Display. Under the Graphics tab right side under Global Options is the box labeled Preview DirectX 10. Just uncheck it. You'll have to restart FSX for it to take effect.

Gliderdriver,Thanks for your reply and advice...I do no't have the preview Direct X 10 box.In my sim, once it up and running and in 2D panel up in the top menu I choose Options,Then Display from the drop down menu ( Here I don't have Global Options) But Global Settings' box ( Set to custom) There is no Preview Direct X box. I've checked under the other tabs as well...Nothing; Where can it be?Thanks,Bernardo

If the DX10 preview check box isn't shown, you don't have DX10 , so it can't be your problem

Yeah It seems to have dissapeared...Don't understand or know why? How can i get a new DX10 From what I know Win 7 comes with DX11,why isn't that showing in the sim? IN my control panel under programs I have Direct X SDK (June 2010) Which is the one I have been using all this time; Why it's not working for the past three days, beats me? I can run a dxdiag. and it all shows no problems found. But it doesn't have the usual tests facilitities for view(direct draw) or sound??? It has worked before I have an NVidia GeForce 7500 LEHere I'm going to need detalied intructions,PleaseThanks,Bernardo

If it's not there it means that your hardware isn't DX10 compliant even if DX10 itself is installed.

I replied to our other topic, What if I were to reinstall FSX,Even if that's the last thing I want to do? Would that reinstate DX?

DirectX is a system installation and is not included in FSX.FSX will run on whatever version you have installedFor FSX to use DX10's functionality you must have DX10 comptible hardwareTo check what version of DX you have follow the instruction in this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/157730 The System Tab will show version of DirectX is installed. Goto the Display tab and click the Test buttons to chect if DirectX is working.

One thing I haven't found is the Direct X preview box, anywhere? It's not under any tab.

You won't find it. Your video card system is not DX10 compliant.

Thanks for you reply Meshman, I have been told that before...I'm already looking at a new computer...Just need money tree to give fruit.Until then this one is doing ok,Despite having been hit by the mcAfee bug last year,it cost me two reformatts,it survived. But still it's a too small machine to run FSX effectively.Bernardo
