Sound Problem

Featured Replies

Hi Iflyers,On my first flight, after the landing checklist, the FS2crew sound stopped. I hit the main button to confirm landing and I couldn't hear it. I kept pressing it and pressing for the next items but nothing. After I parked the aircraft, all of the sounds(because I kept pressing) started playing in fast sequence. So, the problem wasn't that I couldn't hear the sound, it didn't play in the first place.I had a second flight with no problems. On my third, the sound stopped during preflight. On my third flight, I played the decent checklist before the briefing, so used the arrow the play it back after I had played the briefing. Then I got a CTD. When I checked the event viewer, it pointed to FS2sound.dll in windows\system32 as the faulting module. But when I looked for it in the system32 folder it wasn't even there.

Hi,Are your audio drivers up to date? Are you constantly flip-flopping between headset on and headset off?Since it appears to be random, I'd double check your sound setup.Generally speaking, though, the only real known thing that messes up the FS2Crew Audio engine is if you're running audio programs in the background that attempt to strip DRM rights from digital music.Best,

I wasn't flip flopping. And I used other FS2crew versions with no problems. And What about the FS2sound.dll not being in the system folder? Could it be a bad installation?

Hi,Things installed fine because earlier you said:"I had a second flight with no problems. On my third, the sound stopped during preflight."If the install was bad, none of your flights would have worked, and you said the 2nd flight went perfectly.Due to the inconsistent nature of what you reported, perhaps you're putting too much of a load on your system? It's very hard to guess. You could have a hardware issue. Are you able to adjust your audio hardware acceleration?Try making a flight in Africa as a test away from any 3rd party scenery or AI to help rule that out.Best,

I think you are right. I have had more flights since I reported the problem with no problems. As for the sound acceleration, I ran dxdiag and it said no sound problems found. But I am not able to change the acceleration unlike win xp(i am using Win7).Thanks for the support.

So you've done more flights with no problems, shall we consider this closed then?
