June 4, 201115 yr Lucky me got two dud HP PC's recently and I activated FSX on both of them (sequentially-a couple weeks apart). Both have been sent back for refund. Am I screwed (by MS) when I install it on the next computer?? ie, will it fail to activate?
June 4, 201115 yr Author Hi,You might, but then a call to MS and they will re-set your key.oh, no, the two times in my life I called MS for activation issues I got barely-English-speaking drones who kept me on the phone for about 30-45 minutes each time. I was hoping I'd never have to call MS again, for ANYTHING! :) Is there a special phone number now, to call for activations?
June 4, 201115 yr The phone number will be given if activation fails and you need to make a call. Had to do it a couple of times in the past, no big deal. I got the same thing years ago when I had a Dell and had to call their tech support. Recently i've had to call Dish Network's tech support a few times a recieved the same thing and had a guy that you could tell was reading a script and took 15 minutes to answer a simple question. I would almost rather lick my toilet bowl than call customer service that it out sourced to folks that read scripts, I can barely understand and keep saying "thank you" to every response I give them.If I ever have to call MS for a reactivation, I would probably almost rather just go buy a new copy than go thru the hassel. A year or so ago I was trying to get my laptop sorted under an extended warranty and the muppet on the end of the phone (I think he said his name was Kevin) couldn't string 2 words together in English, adding to the problem was that he could only either say what was on the screen in front of him refusing support or attempt phrases such as "Yes sir, we are trying to sort your problem", then refusing to do so. After half an hour he said he would get his supervisor "Richard" to call. His English was even worse .. .. .. Complete waste of space, I am sure these call centres save money - but the support from them is useless. Needless to say I will never buy Dell again .. .. ..G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
