Ok, for some strange reason whenever I ask this question nobody seems to have an answer. My question is pretty simple, how do I add large office biuldings or Skycrapers to FS? I have used runway 12 object placer in the past and added many objects like Super Tankers, small buildings and various objects over the years but I have never seen any generic or custom Skycrapers that can be eassily added. What I would like to do is populate the areas around Qatar,Bahrain, Abu dhabi etc with a more realistc skyline I'm not worried about super accurate positions of buildings etc, would just like a city skyline on approach.I have a very fast system so frame rates are not a problem. Thanks

I use the two payware programs EZ Object placer from Abacus and Instant Scenery from Flight1. Both are about $25 US and both allow you to see what you are placing as you do it - rather than the trial and error process in RWY12.Both are far easier to use than RWY12 and both allow access to the Generic.bgl library which houses many buildings and Skyscrapers which can be easily placed anywhere. You likely can also use the freeware ADE9X program to access and place Skyscrapers but I have not tried that yet.Hope that helps.

Hello Rob,It is strange that nobody has an answer for you, because it is well known that FS, both 9 and X, have various elements that do exactly what you want.As David mentions, you can use the default object library to place the buildings already there in the game. There are a number of object placement tools available for free in the Avsim library - I use SBuilder since it comes with images of the objects (at least in the FS 9 version; there were too many objects in FS X and I never got around to making screenshots of them all, but the buildings should be in there.) Get SBuilder for FS 9 here:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=138252If you are using FS X, then you can use SBuilderX, available here:http://www.ptsim.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=52&Itemid=56Just choose the Download option at the top of the page.In addition to the pre-made buildings, both versions of FS also allow you to make your own Generic Buildings, mixing and matching default textures of your choice in a building with dimensions that you choose. It is very flexible and easy to use, particularly in SBuilderX that has a graphic interface for the creation of these Generic Buildings:You will quickly fill the Emirates with glass skyscrapers.Best regards.Luis

Thanks so much to both of you. For some reason any time I had asked this question in the past people would say whats the point if the scenery is not a realistic rendition of the city. All I am looking for is the ability to create generic city's around the Middle East instead of the flat desert that microsoft gave us.Thanks again I will get to work! Rob

I think for FS9, the old SceneGenX program also had a generic building maker in it. SGX is intended as an airport mod program, but you could extract the generated xml code for the generic buildings and compile them separately.scott s..

Hi,I am going to start placing some buildings tonight with SBuilder, how do you guy's get the co,ords for placing the objects? The previous software I used allowed me to slew any aircraft to the point I want and then add it from there.Cheers
