July 14, 201114 yr I am in the process of building my new computer but I am rather nervous about inserting the the CPU. Can a novice manager the task - How tricky is it? Also I noticed with the Coolmaster HAF-X case I have bought that the backplate is not large enough to cover the 4 mounting screws holes for CPU cooler which was a suprise (I have Asus P8Z68-V) so I will have to do the job before installing the motherboard. Also the placement of the cooler over the CPU worries me? Any advice would be very welcome indeed. Thank you, kind regardsRichard.Ah, "the nervous type"!Really, you should stay away from this, and have a pro / shop / surgeon do this for you, really, honestly, seriously, if this is the only worry you have?Yep, and I know SpiritFlyer don´t like my "unholy, cynical, sarcastic attitude" - but so be it...PS: All OK up in "The Great White North" - eh?
July 14, 201114 yr No. And my point exactly: he has already enough to worry about, apparently.Just curious: Do you drain and sample the fuel before TO in a GA aircraft? Check the pins on the control surface hinges? Drain the static port line? Would you tell a student pilot not to because "he has already got enough to worry about"? :Big Grin:Cheers,- jahman.

Would you tell a student pilot not to because "he has already got enough to worry about"? :Big Grin:No I wouldn't, but I also wouldn't check brakes, oil, and whatnot every time before I sit in my car to drive to work...You know, there are virtually zillion examples. I think the best thing is we let him decide. To each his own as Alain said before...
July 15, 201114 yr keep any fluffy animals away from your work area. I swear cats have enough static to light up a small town. Leave your power cord plugged in but keep the switch on your PSU off, That way you wont get any shocks and the metal case will remain grounded which kills static.
