Problem with RC4 in FSX....please help!

Featured Replies

Hi! I just installed RC 4 (on Windows 7 64-bit) to go along with FSX. I also installed the latest FSUIPC version (4.7.0.3). The problem is that RC isn't responding in FSX when I am ready to use it. The RC dialogue box is there, but the text is red and when I push the buttons (1 or 2) to get weather or contact departure, nothing happens. Here's how I am doing things: First, I start FSX, then I minimize the program and go out and start RC. I load up a flightplan (KBOS to Portland Maine), set everything up, and start RC. I go back into FSX, load the flightplan, and start at the gate at LoganThat's when I get the non-responsive dialogue box all in red. Shouldn't it be in green and respond to key commands? What am I doing wrong???!!!! Please help, I very much would like to use the product.Sincerely,Geoff

Hi Geoff,Did you run mkrwys v4.46 (think that was the latest). If not just download it and put it in your main fsx folder and run it (by double clicking). After that you must run rebuild scenery db in radar contact. Then load a flight plan in radar contact, start fs with the same flight plan and when ready start rc.:( That's the way i do it but i don't use the buttons anymore since i've found this multicrew xp :( The sentences in rc stays in red.John

there is no more green (advdisplay.dll) you can delete the dll from the \modules directoryfsx has to be running, plane at the gate, clock on the panel ticking away. change the way you are doing things. start fsx, load your plan, put your plane at the gate, ready to go. then start rc, load your plan, set your options, and click the start rc button.there is a quick start section to the manual, follow along, and do the steps in the order above, and in the manual (www.jdtllc.com/v4/rcv43.pdf), and i imagine it will work.if it doesn't, you probably have another add-on that is stealing the keys meant for rc, and rc never sees them.if all else fails, make a log, instructions pinned to the top of the forumjd

I suggest upgrading FSUIPC to 4714 from here:http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/Read the release notes pertaining to the new features and ignore the developer and LUA subject matter if you do not run home cockpit modules.

If RC is loaded with a shortcut with its properties set to run as admin and RC is on the same PC as FS then starting the Scenery Rebuild from within RC should start makerwys.exe on its own. The exception is a networked setup or something else does not allow RC to start makerwys.exe from within. The RC window now combining the status and menu options into one semi-transparent blue window can be set for white text if you wish. Make a backup copy of FSUIPC.ini then edit it with notepad or wordpad and add the following to the General section:WhiteMessages=YesBe sure you save it as type text and the filename with extension retains FSUIPC.ini.
