July 18, 201114 yr The release date is 8/1/11 for this FAA handbook which includes large airport operations, chart reading, etc., as well as basics. Amazon is offering $6 off for a net of about $14 + S&H. I found it a very comprehensive guide and have the earlier version in my library. It is free to read on the FAA site but it is not very handy to follow all of the various links.Instrument Procedures Handbook (FAA-H-8261-1A) (Revised Edition) Federal Aviation Administrationhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1616082712/ref=pe_143810_20500790_snp_dpThe list of online related manuals is here:http://www.faa.gov/library/manuals/aviation/Just an FYI for a manual I've recommended on a few forums. For FMC users it is especially relevant IMHO. There have been a few queries about chart interpretation and airport procedures in this forum.

One reason for considering the update is the slow but progressing adaptation some ICAO procedures that the FAA did not conform to.For European pilots try amazon.co.uk:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Instrument-Procedures-Handbook-FAA-H-8261-1a-Administration/dp/1616082712/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1311045728&sr=1-5 Is this it guys?EDIT: Ok, obviously that's the older 2007 revision
