July 18, 201114 yr I've just purchased VOX and have installed it with no problem. When I load a flight plan created by FSBuild (or FSX for that matter), and I enable VOX, it seems to treat it as a VFR flight. I am instructed to contact ground in the display window. When I do, I get the option to do a local flight, a local taxi circuit, or a radio check. If I contact clearance I am given an initial altitude of zero. I have tried saving the flight and then reloading it. That worked but I was under the impression that it was done that way in the older versions but not in 6.05. Any ideas would be appreciated.
July 18, 201114 yr Hi Mike,The steps I perform to load-and-launch a flight are part of my checklist: Load a valid IFR .pln file. (I "activate" my pln directly by using AivlaSoft EFB, but the same can be done from the FSX Planner by using it to either generate or to load an external .pln.) Save the FSX Flight. I press ";" to call the "save flight" dialog, and use "l" for the filename so it's three keypresses for me - ";" "l" and Enter. Click "Enable" on the VoxATC window. That's it. If I was smart enough to run the VoxPop Server control prior to launching FSX, I'll hear a series of "test," "test," "test" voices, then "VoxATC version 6 point 0-5."
July 18, 201114 yr Are you loading the flight plan before pressing 'Fly Now' or when the flight has loaded?Chris
July 18, 201114 yr Author Chris, I got to thinking about your question and the way I start FSX. I have the startup screen option off and the sim starts with the trike in flight over an island. I reset it to start with the startup screen, then I set up my start point and I loaded the flight plan. I then hit "Fly Now" and after the sim loaded and I was at the gate, I loaded the aircraft that I was going to use. When I started VOX and enabled it, it went to the atis page, which it had never done before. I think maybe I figured it out. Thanks for your help.
July 19, 201114 yr Author After doing some testing, I found that I have to load the flight plan before hitting "FLY NOW". I may also have to load the aircraft al;so because VOX kept referring to me as ultralight when I was flying a 737.
July 19, 201114 yr I activate my flight plan when I'm at the gate/ramp, sitting in the left seat. (I don't use the FSX planner, so it's easier for me this way.)

Indeed, you do have to load the aircraft before hitting 'Fly Now'. That's something that took me quite a while to realise; explained why I'd sometimes be given short or grass runways at smaller airfields! It struck home when I tried using a helicopter with 6.05 and it was treating me as an aircraft. Chris
