July 23, 201114 yr I glanced through the thousands of manual pages without finding what the symbols on the speed tape mean.See attached screen shot.1) What does the yellow line indicate ? ( at the bottom and the top of the speed tape )2) What does the yellow SR ( at 210 knots ) tell me ?3) FR ( in green ) at 165 knots and F35 ( in green ) at 188 knots ? 4) On the PFD I notice a blue, horizontal line looking like a feather ? What is the purpose of this one ?I appreciate your teaching.Hubert Werni
July 23, 201114 yr Maybe I am wrong.1.You don't want the plane going into those "critical speed" areas under the current configuration (flaps), reaching red area means stall would be imminent or you get into overspeed.2.SR(Slat retraction) yellow means that accordind to your current config (flaps 22) you are not supposed to retract slats until you reach SR speed(about 190knots), then SR turns greens and you can retract the slats now.3. Maybe I am wrong here. If you reach 165 knots you can retract your flaps, but not slats. Maybe wrong. You can fly as fast as 188 knots with flaps at 35.4. Shows you under which pitch angle your aircraft would stall (in this case about 23deg). Roland Schmalzl

An amber F15 for example means you cannot retract the flaps. When it turns green, you can retract the flaps. Correct. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
