  1. Hi Kyle, I have a qustion. Could you ask if we could possibly get a screenshot of the /400 VC with the old style backup intrumentation. Thanks
  2. Well. What a pity that we don't have high end versions of those beautiful, iconic planes. And look at those fantastic, old style flightdecks. Modern flightdecks are stuffed with ipad displays and look basically all the same. 787, A 350. No soul. Just my two cents.
  3. Thanks. That's really cool. You ask for something and then it gets added that fast. Thanks!!! B)
  4. I know, I know. I just hoped having explored the totally insane feature list of the 737 NGX that at some point we could also get those really old style backup instrument frames of the early 777s. :( Thanx
  5. Hi, Could you please show a screenshot with the old style ISFD. Did they finally correct the casing of the instruments? Right now they just use the casing of the standalone ISFD for the old instruments, too. It is not simple to notice the difference but it is PMDG. I would be cool if they correct it some time. http://www.simpits.org/articles/Boeing_simtour/simtour32.jpg (Classic old style casing small) http://www.ahrtp.com/EG_Images6/Boeing_777-300ER_Cockpit_opt600x900_flikr.jpg (new ISFD) Thanx
  6. The night VC looks nice. In combination with FS2Crew Voice Commander it is still one of the best FS birds.
  7. The flightdeck of the 767 is old school. But on the other hand it is more interesting than those we try to put "flat screens in every corner cockpits of nowadays jets".They all look the same.
  8. Flightbeam is reference in terms of quality and airport design. And it costs even more.
  9. I guess the PMDG MD11 was, intended or not, a gift for a small group of "tubesimaviationfanatics" who wanted to have something different or broaden their knowledge beyond the usual Boeing based products. I would never call her, as it is now correct, the Boeing MD11. For me it will be always the McDonnell Douglas MD11, a true Diva with it's legendary "MD11 bounce". And certainly I would love to see a minimum upgrade solution that brings UHDT VC textures to the bird. But although it might not cost more than a week to do it, I think we won't even see a small update unfortunately.
  10. Count me in for a an updated or new version. And certainly for a kickstart.
  11. It is highly unlikely that you will ever encounter OOM's with a decent rig with DX11. Just look at Battlefield or other similar games in the high end graphics sector. Those are miles ahead of what you see from P3D right now. But with the new PDK (don't know exactly how it is called) there is much more possible in terms of effects than we haveright now.
  12. Although it is one of the most important planes ever built as it revolutionized the North atlantic travel in the 80's it is underrepresented in the community right now. Not important which company does a new one but we definitely need a state of the art 767 in my opinion. The success of the 777 would not have been thinkable without this mileston plane.
  13. If you want to avoid OOM's just do what I do. Use the DX 10 fixer and uncheck all sceneries you just don't need for your flight. Google scenery cfg editor tool and create scenery cfgs for your most common routes if you don't always want to use the library manager. Use high definition audio device in the sound setting and de/activate the the simulator sound engine using Q once in a while.
  14. It is DX11. This alone will cure lots of problems, even if it is not 64bit. OOM's will be history.
  15. Why do we have no freezes with the NGX? Were those sounds not good enough? Did they develop a too complicated sound environment?
  16. Thanks for the video. Excellent as always. Hope we could also see a walkaround.
  17. Of course it is only a minor issue. But we are talking about PMDG and not any average flightsim developer. I don't want to annoy anybody but maybe they just did not notice it and finally look at it again and correct it later. The backup casing looks wrong to me if you compare it to the picture on airliners.net
  18. Looks like a 777 300/ER. They have corrected the position of the gauges in the backup instruments. But the metal casing is still not corrected. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Emirates/Boeing-777-31H/0280071/L/&sid=753a6642e670a79ed75eb75bff7d995f The bars of the casing on the side and the upper part are only half as thin than on the base. But I know it is not finished yet.
  19. Sorry guys, but after a sharp analysis of the Facebook picture I tend to think that this 777 is not going anywhere. There are no Vspeeds active on the PFD. It does not look like it is going to taxi to the runway. It is going to get some maintenance. Maybe a C-check.
  20. member111333 replied to AwacX's topic in PMDG 777
I actually thought about something available through the library on avsim or other flightsim related sites, not directly related to PMDG. Just a gift for the fans. No direct support. A basic effect, not as shiny as on the J41.
  21. member111333 replied to AwacX's topic in PMDG 777
Maybe an "basic rain effect" can be done and given to the community as an "unofficial not supported feature". Here it is, try it , it may cause problems but you won't get support for it as it is just for fun. If a problem appears just deactivate the effect like in the J41.
  22. But when you buy from Boeing you get at least something you can put in your lawn. You can't do that with PMDG software. And when you have written off your investment you can still sell the rest to your local junkyard.
  23. Looks like the MD11 is a gem that only true aviation lovers can appreciate. I can understand a developer saying the plane did not sell too well. I will never understand comments like:"I don't like the MD11 or maybe the MD80 because I only like the 737,777 or 747." If an Md11 would come to my local airport I would certainly try see it in real life. It is almost an exotic plane these days.
  24. The question is not if it is still worth it, but if you want to learn something different. When you had already experience with the NGX everything feels familiar when you try out the Level D or the PMDG 747. But the MD11 is a little bit like the Leobardo Maddog making you feel you are trying out something new. I am constantly using it. Have fun with the MD11.
  25. If you compare the standby instruments on the United 777 200ER video (0.28s) from above and the latest PMDG teaser picture shown on facebook https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=534898336549955&set=pb.165758250130634.-2207520000.1363220078&type=3&theater you can clearly see that at least on the standby instruments is still room for graphical improvement. It looks like the artificial horizon almost touches the "base of the metal case" of the display in the video and also the altimeter and speed roses seem to be bigger, less centered and sitting on the "base of the instrument". You can also check out these pictures: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Emirates/Boeing-777-21H-ER/0130129/L/&sid=be977087f55ed467cd34b2045538c0b0 http://www.airliners.net/photo/Lauda-Air/Boeing-777-2Z9-ER/0271398/L/&sid=be977087f55ed467cd34b2045538c0b0 But maybe I am tooooo picky.
