First my PC, not in great detail but Your 777 with Orbx runs well, all the normal addons,edoc, opus, ITrack etc etc. fps are around 30. I also use a second screen for pop ups and FMS.

P3D v2 is one screen only, it's like fsx full window mode.

Running just Orbx global and a2a 172 at my local airport is 24 fps and that's with all shadows off apart from VC.

I've had more OOM in 4 hours than 4 years with fsx.

It's not as sharpe a picture,no free flight you load straight into a flight.

I could gone on but really dont rush it's no where close ATM

Running on my 940@4 and a gtx660 its not good.

Back to fsx for me, I might even ask for a refund, after waiting up till 3am this morning all I can say is am gutted.

The higher occurrence of OOMs in P3D2 comes as a surprise to me.

 

Have you applied any changes in graphics settings, differences in DX modes (9/10/11)?

Your experience is quite different from the majority of feedback that I'm reading elsewhere. The VAS from what I'm hearing from people is no where near close to OOM point. Better check with their forum first

I guarantee your OOM issue is because of your rig. What you experienced isn't normal. And why don't you post your full specs?

 

I haven't even gotten close to the 2.8gb threshold with the settings maxed including shadows.

If you post some specs about your rig, we might be able to help you figure out what is wrong. That many OOM's seems irregular. Maybe a bad installation?

As I mentioned on another post there was a mixup with download links last night I purchased v2 but the download link was for 1.4 I believe this is what happened the OP hence why he goes straight into a flight instead of a startup screen as well as the other problems.

Thanks.  Given how it tends to set people off, I guess it makes sense, but...eh...

So this morning I bought 1.4 versus v2.
Maybe this is your problem...

I've been following the V2 release all morning and it seems to me the same thing is happening that happened with the PS4 launch. Everyone was complaining that it doesn't look that much different, no real improvement, ect ect. And what they fail to realize is that the product just came out. Of course Fifa 14 isn't going to look a whole lot different on the PS4 than the PS3. Wait till game developers learn to utilize its full potential How long and how much did it take to get FSX to look the way it does now? Prepar3d v2 just came out, and so far, just my opinion, the vanilla screens are a vast improvement over vanilla FSX. And I personally can't wait to see what developers are able to do with it. And also, I'm excited to know that LM made the program with the intent of 3rd party developers adding to it. I'm hoping this means no more of the, "its a limitation of fsx we can't get around" or "we did the best we could given the limitations of fsx." Just my 2 cents

I completey agree Adam, reading some of the posts on the P3D forum it is no wonder LM want to distance themselves from the gaming market, from some of the reactions you would think some people expected the latest version of COD.

 

It is what is under the hood that matters, this platform has great potential and will hopefully continue to be developed.
