July 30, 201114 yr Thanks for the informations.....Now honestly what am I supposed to do with that knowledge now? My guess is as everyone is excited about the NGX, he wants to share his fun in preparation. Honestly, can't you just not say anything if you have nothing nice to say? We are all extremely happy for the NGX as we have been waiting for it anxiously since it was announced... do you really have to go out of your way to be obnoxious? Can't you just be happy with the rest of us? I usually do not jump in to argue with these kinds of comments but I get the impression that people are intimidated and avoid and leave the PMDG forums because this kind of unnecessary hostility. I might just be taking your post the wrong way and if I am I am sorry, but I just get so frustrated when people are mean for no reason Best regards, happy flying, Wallace

No one however will ruin my mood for the NGX ;)

July 30, 201114 yr Oh, sorry I didn't mean it in an get on somebody way at all. I didn't want to hurt anybody's feelings and if I did so I apologize! I share your excitement I just didn't know what to do with the information that he upgraded. Reflecting now I must admit I should have just shut up but I honestly wasn't mad or wanted him or anybody else to feel bad. So once again apologies from me to everybody that was offended by me in any way.

July 31, 201114 yr Remember you still may want to use ******* Altuve (aka Bojote) FSX.cfg tweaking tool to get the best performance. Also close nonessential programs that run in the background while running FSX. Bob Robert Yunque

July 31, 201114 yr One good thing for you in the move to 64bit, is no more OOMs. I was really at my wits end years ago when I was on 32bit XP with ctds after long flights, nothing is more anti-climatic than to cross the Atlantic in the PMDG 747, and at 1000 AGL at Heathrow FSX crashes with the message that it has run out of memory. So I'm happy for the OP, as he can now have some piece of mind knowing that is one less crash he has to worry about. A.J. Domingo

(1) Set the USERVA command (2) Set the Virtual Memory to the max advised by Windows in a custom configuration instead of letting Windows control it. In XP or Vista its Goodbye to OOM errors.... Tested over multiple machines/software/configs and at least for me works perfectly. Five minutes work and no more OOMs right at the end of a flight, usually in a complex landing and one you have perfectly set up for once. If you`re about to crash it usually lets you, its a conspiracy.
