Is there still plans to Release a SP after NGX

Featured Replies

Hi with all the excitement still on the NGX, I thought I would just check to see if there are still plans to release a SP for the JS41 post NGX release? It was mentioned before about one being made to fix a few bugs and to include a few new features such as hold functon in the FMS. Is this still the plan and is there a time frame in mind?

Regards

Yes,will have SP2 after NGX.I wish can improve VNAV,when engage ALT SEL+IAS will be descent in first, that's really strange.

Hm, I'm not sure what you mean by improving VNAV, could you explain it, please? If I'm not missing anything it works exactly as it should. Regards,

@Grzegorz Before takeoff i was engage GA Alt sel +IAS(170kt) mode without AP,after takeoff the IAS close to 170kt by manual pitch, when engage AP then pitch was fast descent, strange is IAS within 170kt but she still auto descent in first every time.

Indeed it acts like this, but I think it's improper procedure. You should engage IAS mode when your're actually flying at the desired speed, and use the knob to fine tune it if needed. I think, that computer is using the speed at the moment of engagement to calculate proper pitch etc, so if the speed was 0, then it will first dive to gain more speed even if it's already at right speed. This is only my speculation and of course might be a bug as well as real behavior, procedure says when to engage IAS mode, probably for a reason ;-) It's little shame that nobody with deeper knowledge of the system is participating in this forum anymore. You could try submitting ticket to PMDG, maybe the'll provide some more detailed, based on real knowledge answer. Regards,

I was open IAS then has flight director on EADI and i still not open AP.I follow this procedure from AOM,has something wrong?Even i try to open AP when IAS on 180-190kt,she should be pitch up to reduce IAS,BUT she still descent in first.I was only one happen this condition?"

Yes, but you press IAS button while still on ground when speed is 0 is that right? I think that is the problem, I have tried it too and had the same behavior. Takeoff, accelerate, and when speed reaches desired value engage IAS mode. I'll try to take a look into AOM tomorrow, now it almost midnight here ;-)

Oh seem fix..I can't believe.Yes i set IAS mode while on ground and speed is 0,and i try another way, only open GA mode then takeoff, when IAS reach 170kt then engage IAS mode and AP,she is very SMOOTH to climb not more descent.Straight Face.gif So i was follow wrong procedure for a while months......Point is not engage IAS mode while on ground, before i away set GA+IAS+Alt sel on ground before takoff,so normal procedure is need to engage IAS mode on sky.Thank you Grzegorz !Angel.gif

I'm glad I could help smile.png Regards,

@Hey Grzegorz did you knew engage IAS mode need to in sky before i ask?

IAS is a pitch mode AP which means it will do whatever it needs to to attain the set speed. It does not care if your altitude is set at 12000 and you are at 10000 or vice versa. It will just maintain the correct pitch angle to attain the speed dialed in. So in short at full power and not at max speed if you engage IAS you will most likely climb. If you pull the throttles back to minimum again you will most definitely decent or to say it otherwise, if you're IAS speed is 170 and you are flying at 160 when you engage the AP it will first decent to get the speed to 170 and then maintain a pitch angle to keep it there, whether it will climb or decent depending on power setting. FRED

@Fred I know IAS mode was control by pitch down or up to reach set speed, but before i ask this question,i always set IAS mode before takeoff then result is always descent in first, this strange condition before i got fix and i guess this is bug.

Yes, that's how I always understood this mode should be operated, and that's how I always did use it.

Ok,seem i need to carefully read manual in next time.Whistle.gif

Guys, PMDG, if you make the new SP, please include an option to have kilograms instead of lbs. Thanks!
