can't start engine 2

Featured Replies

When starting from dark and cold, I cannot start engine two. #1 is not a problem, but #2 is. I switch the starter to grd, with the fuel leveler idle. There is no rise in EGT or something. Also a standby power drive light is on (can't get it off) and engine 2 gives a low pressure warning. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but don't know what. Looked in the manual, but don't find the solution. Any help? Thanx!

Open the isolation valve. You really need to read up on the basics. ;)

You aren't following proper procedures. Your engine bleeds should be on, and the isolation valve should be open. The duct pressure is way low because of this.

From my extremely limited real world knowledge of the 737, a few things stand out on your overhead panel. - why is the main entry door open when you're starting an engine?- turn off the B hydraulic pumps. Afaik you only need one set during engine start- your engine bleeds aren't on- also looks like your isolation valve is closed See how that all works out.

Thanks, isolation valve did the trick. I've been pushing so much buttons that I missed that. And I did not get any sleep tonight. Door was open because of a mistake. Trying to start the engine with ctr-E, but hit shift-E that openend the door.

Not me to blame. The 737's I flew before the NGX sucked! Never learned it that good. And AOA did not finish their training vids. Whistle.gif

Did you buy the 737 package? I did last night, but I cannot acces the 737 area. Did mail the AOA guys, but I was wondering if that is because its not ready yet.

You can access the members area but the lessons are not ready as of yet

I've never heard of having B pumps off. What would be the advantage of that, I wonder.
