  1. Actually Allan C. says that during descent briefing: "At the moment we are routing direct to Point Reyes..."
  2. Just a small few remarks: this video was shot in 2000 not 2005 so it's hard to tell if airac from Aug. 05 won't introduce any discrepancies. Is your fuel total about the same at the time when Allan R. describes the FMC ? What CI are you using ? Generally the lower the CI the earlier the descent. About that half a minute difference between captains clock and the parking system clock, I wonder if they used to have all the clocks perfectly synchronized at that time ?
  3. Thanks for correcting this. sebihepp, I think you may find the following quote from the FCOM of some interest: Note: If change to a localizer frequency is desired when captured in the VOR mode, disengage VOR LOC mode prior to selection of the localizer. VOR LOC mode can then be reengaged.
  4. Ok, let's go thru this step by step. When you select the approach and activate the route then go to the HOLD page does it have a magenta ACT in the title ?
  5. Generally swapping NAV freqs with VOR/LOC active seems like a no-no to me and I would think that using HDG SEL in between is a better idea. However if you feel like pulling off such stunts the you actually can and that's because to intercept a LLZ you DON'T dial the course as it serves NO purpose! So technically you should be able to just switch the freqs and that's it. Although I never tried it personally.
  6. As you noticed this hold is a part of a G/A segment. During preflight once you go to DEP ARR page and select the LLZ 26 approach this hold is a part of it automatically gets activated on the HOLD page.
  7. Just jumped in and loaded that flight. No problems here... With the flight loaded go to HOLD page then LSK 6L (NEXT HOLD) then press NEXT PAGE until you see RTTNB (the one being part of approach not G/A) downselect it to s/p then upselect it to the boxes at the bottom. The Exec light should illuminate... I'm sure you can take it from there. Just verify the hold appears on the ND.
  8. if the whole cockpit seems blurry set global texture res to very high
  9. Set global texture resolution to the max.
  10. Open the isolation valve. You really need to read up on the basics. ;)
  11. Hello Noah!Normally when calculating all the dispatch data you want to find out what is the limit weight the plane can take off at from a given runway. However assuming you know your take off weight you can use the field limit weight table the other way around and look up what is the shortest runway the plane could potentially take off from at given TOW, temperature (assumed temperature if you use derate), pressure altitude. The length you would get from the table is wind and slope corrected so you'd need to apply a "reverse correction" to get the actual runway length. Well, that's one way to do it. PS. Also I'm not sure if that FCOM has all the necessary tables or only the flaps 5 tables. If you need any more help just ask.
  12. Bert, what I'm referring to is described in the 737 NG FCTM (around page 4.23 IIRC). A short quote: "Procedure Holding - When a procedure holding pattern is selected from the navigation database and the FMC shows PROC HOLD on the legs page, the following is true when PROC HOLD is the active leg: - exiting the holding pattern is automatic; there is no need to select EXIT HOLD..."So it would be nice if someone from PMDG could tell us whether this works the way it is described in the real world manual. Also are the radius-to-fix legs implemented correctly?
  13. Also a database of en-route holdings. Ability to program procedure holdings (those that exit automatically a.k.a. "racetracks") without using any tricks. I realize that at this stage of the development cycle you won't add that if it's not added already so I only ask is any of this in as of now.
  14. HelloWill the format of navdata and sidstar files be enhanced in any way for the NGX to introduce the missing features perhaps ?
  15. Probably frame rate tunning options. Just my bet.
