What do you guys think about this rig?

Hello! I just wonder if any of you that knows more about computers than i do (:P) could tell me if this rig will run FS9 (Goal is FSX) at nice settings: Mobo: Asus P8P67 LE REV B3CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K 3,3GHzCPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3GPU: KFA2 GeForce GTX 560Ti EX OC 1GBRAM: Corsair 4GB (1x4096MB) CL9 1333Mhz XMS3 (will probably be upgraded to 8 gig)PSU: Corsair TX 650W V2 80+ BronzeHDD: 500GB Western Digital Caviar BlueOS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM, SP1 My dream would be to fly like the PMDG 747 from LHR to JFK, and be able to land from the VC with OK FPS. Will this work on this rig, or should i go with something else? Note that the CPU is the "Unlocked and unleashed " (OC friendly) version, so overclocking for better performance will be possible! :) Thanks in advance!/Wasso

You should have more than one RAM module, especially at that clockspeed, or you'll starve the CPU for data (especially if you overclock). Change your RAM to 2x2GB, or better yet since RAM is dirt cheap right now just go with 2x4 anyway, you're really not saving much by doing it the way you have planned... While you're at it get some faster RAM too. 1333 is really slow, you want at least 1600. Try to keep it at 1.5V or less though.

Okay, so 2x2gb 1600Mhz RAM will do it? Will that be a nice setup?

Updated RAM then: Corsair 4GB (2x2048MB) CL7 1600Mhz XMS3 Is that better? :)

And change the motherboard to the non LE version

I would not get any of those for overclocking. Is there a MSI P67 C43 or G45?

Okay now... Don't give a s**t about the previous rig... Take a look at this one i ran into instead: Mobo: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 3,2GHz Black Edition (might though go with the 970 instead)CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 PlusGPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 Ti OC 1GBRAM: Corsair 4GB (2x2048MB) CL9 1600Mhz XMS3HDD: 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJPSU: XFX Core Edition 550WOS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM How will this run FSX? If i go with this one, i will probably get one more 560 in less than a year (hopefully :P )

Don't do that, your first option was much better

Okay, New rig: I saw an overclocked 2500K that was running at 4,8Ghz. Settings was FSB: 48 MHz, Multiplier: 100 Core-Voltage: 1.39VWill i be able to do an OC like this with the 212+?

Hmm, why not an i7 CPU? I've heard you get better performance in FSX with them.

Right now it's too expensive... But i heard that the i5 works fine (if you overclock it)

Get a NVidia card instead. A GTX460 1GB, GTX560, or GTX560 Ti

Roger that, So an i5 + a GTX460 or better will do it?
