August 5, 201114 yr Commercial Member First make sure you activate performance pressing EXEC on the PERF INIT page [ACT PERF INIT should be the page title] Secondly you need 2 FD's on to arm on the ground. Third read the tutorial...There is always something even experienced users might pick up. ==================================== E M V Precision Manuals Development Group ====================================

August 5, 201114 yr I set everything up but I get a warning sound. I can't find what I'm missing. None the less, I fly with the sound engaged and it turns off right after takeoff.
August 5, 201114 yr Vnav !! Inhibited below 400 ft RA or if performance initialization not complete. Boeing FCOM. Frederic Steiner.
August 5, 201114 yr Vnav !! Inhibited below 400 ft RA or if performance initialization not complete. Boeing FCOM. Yes but you should still be able to select VNAV on the MCP on the ground and VNAV should appear in white (ARMED) on your FMA. If you have the Collins MCP selected.Once above 400 ft AGL it should become ACTIVE (green on the FMA). Just lnav on the ground. It doesn't mention it in the Boeing 737NG CBT either ? Fred. Frederic Steiner.

August 5, 201114 yr Page 982 of the FCOM2 (The one from PMDG).Thanks for that !! I don't have the NGX yet. Waiting a few days for the dust to settle. My Fcom is the Ryanair Vol 2 (804) pages. Cheers. Fred. Frederic Steiner.

Anyways, 10.7 (Or was it 10.8?) allows VNAV to be armed on the ground prior to takeoff. Now that said, I've heard that not all operators use it, so it's possible Ryanair falls into that group.

Much easier to use level change to untill finished with ATC. I personally like to fly an lnav/vnav cruise and if possible all the way to localizer and glideslope capture.Very automated but it does it so damn well !! Cheers. Frederic Steiner.
