December 26, 200322 yr It looks like the developer of Clearance Unlimited has finally pulled the plug on his site.He had been stating that it's days were numbered. It was a wonderful source of Sid/Star charts and other flight planing info. Hope everyone got what they wanted off it. John Fitzpatrick

December 31, 200322 yr Anyone know of a source of SID/STAR charts that are free? I did a search in the forums here and the only ones I can find showing SIDs and STARs require a membership fee of at least $49/year.....Bummer. There goes "As real as it gets".Steve
December 31, 200322 yr Totally off this topic and my apologies for hijacking the thread... But... There seem to be a lot of lost 06's running around here these days - especially USN / Coastie types. I am going to have to open a Goat Locker Forum and invite all you lost / wayward souls to attend. :-lol
December 31, 200322 yr >>There seem to be a lot of lost 06's running around here these days - especially USN / Coastie types.Lost Navy & Coastie Captains?Must.... fight.... obvious.... response...........:-)Capt. Richard Alty (MN)
December 31, 200322 yr Ah go for it. :) Don't hold back. Donchaknow that upon retirement they revoke their sextent operating license (actually, they don't issue them a QMC or QMMC to steer by)? Is it any wonder they are lost? :-lol
December 31, 200322 yr Hey! As a former navigator I resemble that remark. They used to call me Vasco Da Gama back then. Got us clean across the Atlantic and was only off by a couple of yards..... :-lol That was before they had GPS, too. (I only had a QM2 in the Dept no QMC or QMCS or QMCM.... They were all on shore duty).
December 31, 200322 yr Adrift may be a better description than lost! Good for you on the translantic navigation...I never really got much beyond shooting an accurate local apparent noon, and the pin wheels on star sights for me were nothin' but a dream. I'd be lost without my trusty QMC and now my trusty INS/FMS/GPS boxes...Maybe there's a reason I'm drivin' a desk for my last tour in the CG and all my ship commands are behind me!aloha and happy new year!
