August 7, 201114 yr Also what settings for the graphics card are people using the ati cards? cheersAndrewAlso interested in seeing a good answer to this one.As an ATI user myself I have been tinkering a lot with Catalyst Control Center. I have a HD6950 myself. Finding the best settings is not easy and most FSX Tutorials are all about the Nvidia settings. If there's anyone with a similar card who has the better CCC settings I would love to get a PM or just reply ;)

August 7, 201114 yr Hmm, I don´t know, after tinkering around with the settings in fsx and the fix on the supplied link, my NGX runs just fine now. Sure I don´t have 30 fps on the ground, but 16-25 is normal for me and that is with all slider in autogen to the max. I have an ATI 5560 with 1 gb Ram....not sure what the equivalent GeForce card is though.....I would really like to know. But so far I must say that the NGX runs better than expected on my system. August 7, 201114 yr why do people buy a 980x for more than 1000$ when they can get an i7 2600k or i7920 for 300$ that can do exact the same in fsx.i dont understand that.
August 7, 201114 yr I have basically the same computer 99X, 590 card OC to 4.2 Ghz, same MD ASUS Exrteme III, 12 GB ram and I see > 100 fps in the 2D withthe setting recommended in the manual. At level flight I am at 150 fps. Even iin the 3D heading into my FLYTAMPA scenery, I am > 40 fps. I have a computer just for FSX, no anti virus, no other programs. FSX is on the 120 G SSD card. The 1.5 TB other HD is basically empty. You should be getting much better. BTW. I am sure the 2600 can match my performance, but I did not want to take any chances on a new computer - go all out or don't go at all. why do people buy a 980x for more than 1000$ when they can get an i7 2600k or i7920 for 300$ that can do exact the same in fsx.i dont understand that.Well tell me what fps are you getting with the 2000? Not trying to burst your bubble Paul, actually you've been told before about this, just trying to help those who are planning an upgrade make the right decision.Sandy Bridge's 2500K and 2600K are both equally faster than a 980X / 990X in FSXAnd the GTX590 is a terrible GPU of choice. Only half of it ill be working in FSX so it performs like a $200 GTX560
