Possible cause for bugs

Featured Replies

Excuse me if this is obvious, but I had not paid attention to this at first: when you load the NGX aircraft, there is a 20-second initialization process indicated on the screen (and mentioned in the tutorial). If you interrupt this sequence, you may prevent it from completing with the result that "bugs" will appear. If this is not already done, the programmers should consider locking the keyboard and mouse while this initialization is going on.To avoid problems with lock-ups preventing getting control of the computer, the programmers could make the keyboard unlock after 20 seconds whether or not the initialization is complete. Another way would be to make the message "DO NOT INTERRUPT INITIALIZATION" appear in BIG letters across the screen. Sorry if this is useless, but I have started my initial flights without waiting because I had not seen the message in small lettes because I was busy looking at the manual, keyboard and computer screen. I certainly think your on to something here because i just allow it to finish and don't have any of these issues people are experiencing

I also just leave it an dive not experienced any bugs as of yet.

Yeah this is strange, We have to remember that the NGX is so complex so maybe it's right to allow it to configure itself before we apply anything just a thought which is logical

You have already mentioned it is advised in the tutorial - if people can't read properly then that is their fault. That is what the manual/tutorial is for.

I think it was Tabs who said this 737 is so complex, they've essentially created a sim within a sim and FSX is actually being rebooted. When the MD11 came out, we saw the same thing. Back then Dan Downs (beta tester) said to leave the thing alone when it's initiallizing, and that's what I do; hands off while I'm waiting.
