livery manager still not working.

1. i right clicket the manager icon and ran as admin2. i browsed and put the fsx root path which is C:microsoft flight simulator X there are no aircraft in the installed aircraft variants box on the left. the ng is in the aircraft folder with all 4 variants. any help is appreciated. mike davis

I had the same problem and I solved it by running the Livery manager as an administrator

Hi Mike, I was able to import new liveries, even though the manager doesn't show them as installed. Sorry I don't remember exactly what buttons you choose, but it's a case of browsing to the liveries you've downloaded and selecting them, it does the install, but just doesn't then show them as installed! I flew one of the ones I installed so confirmed it works. Pretty basic I'm surprised it's buggy. Noel

The only reason there would be no aircraft variants installed would be if the aircraft.cfg folders for each one were blank or missing. Try restoring the .cfg files for each aircraft by right clicking on the file and hitting "restore previous versons." Wait for it to load the original and the variants should appear back in the Livery Manager.And make sure you uncheck "read-only" for each aircraft's main folder!

I unchecked the read only box but it automatically returns to the checked state. also i right clicked the cgf but I do not see how to restore previous versions.
