1. I too have seen the pulsating landing lights on the 700's that Southwest flies. I also saw a 300 the other day using them, so Mr. Fitzgerald IS correctabout the pulsating landing lights on the NG. They are for visual recognition for both humans and birds. Mike Davis
2. The NGX is spectacular, period. The only thing missing is the alternate flashing landing lights that Southwest uses. LOL.
3. A good point indeed. I think alot of simmers have to realize tweaking, no matter what hardware or software you are running makes the simulation much more enjoyable.
4. looking at your computer specs if you ran unlimited you would be way in the hundreds with FS9. I am running a Q6600 @ 2.75mhz and it took many hoursof experimentation and tweaking to get FSX to an acceptable limit. -Mike Davis

12. while taxiing my wings pop up and down. they go into the flight or flexed position then return normal every couple of seconds. mike davis
13. I am running vista 64 bit, in regards to the ngx will windows 7 make a noticible increase in frame rates? I get 25 fps in the vc but stutters when panning in the external view. Mike Davis
14. While the question always comes up about computer specs, FPS, and will the NGX run on my machine etc. We all can be proactive and make sure we are running FSX to the best of out computers ability no matter what the setup while we wait for the NGX. PMDG has an nvidia setup thread in the general forum which talks in depth about the interaction between the FSX settings and the video card settings. Look on the internet because there is a wealth of information out there which will make a difference how FSX will run. I use nhancer and made big changes with the FPS. I almost exclusively fly the MD-11 and active sky evolution with a constant 30 FPS with the sliders mid way. My setup is a q6600 2.6 ghz oc'd to 3.0, GTS 250 for my primary display and a g-force 9600gt for my second monitor which is where I put the FMS window. So this thread can build with constructive information we all can learn from and make the arrival of the NGX a few FPS better. Mike Davis

17. I am getting the wrong METAR data, it downloads no problem and updates on FSX but something but the data is not right, for example it says its -2.0C when its really 17C. Mike Davis
18. I have a q6600 2.4 ghz cpu. I can overclock it to 2.675ghz in the nvidia ntune program. Anything after that the computer locks up. Is there a program that can manage the overclocking beyond 2.675 ghz. Thanks.Michael Davis
19. I installed a new hard drive just for FSX. I did a new install of FSX and the program works fine. I reinstalled the PMDG 747-400 and I have a skeleton aircraft. I reinstalled the MD-11 and have all the gauges missing. I looked in the forum but did not come up with anything. Can someone point me in the right direction to a post regarding this topic or can someone help me with a fix? I miss flying my PMDG aircraft.Michael Davis
20. Rule #1 Fly by handTo help crews get used to the MD-11's handling eccentricities, Delta took the unusual step of urging pilots to fly MD-11s manually from takeoff all the way to cruising altitude, instead of making a quick switch to autopilot.Rule #2 Go AroundReal World'Just Quit Flying' Veteran FedEx captain Jack Burke, who once walked away from an MD-11 tail strike, has described his caution about flying the plane. "The first 100 feet and the last 100 feet are where the crew really has to sweat it," he says. If the descent isn't exactly right, Capt. Burke adds, he will abort the landing, because "the plane can just quit flying on you. There is simply no time to recover."FSX WorldI flipped the MD-11 over and crashed while landing with a tailwind even though tailwind landings are almost non existent in real world civillian aviation. If I in the 747-400 I would have landed with no problem. If I was in the 747-800 I would have looked really cool and landed with no problem. Here are a few links to the real world issues with the MD-11.http://www.iasa.com.au/folders/sr111/forbidding.htmlhttp://www.airlinesafety.com/faq/faq9.htmMichael Davis

23. Hello, i am looking to upgrade my machine and am I am wondering which will perform better. Is a video card upgrade or a cpu upgrade more effective. Below are my specs.Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz Quad Core Processor
Asus P5N-E Motherboard
(8GB) DDR II 800MHz PC6400 Memory
250GB 7,200 RPM SATA2 Hard Drive
22X DVD
