Microstutter on APP and Landing with NGX

Featured Replies

This is proberly not entitled to be only in the NGX forum but how do you avoid the microstutters when you fly on APP and during takeoff in airports? Its easy to get 25fps but microstutter is still a experiencekiller The videocard is HD5870 1GB. Do you use frame limiter or fiberframtimefraction or Swapwaittimeout or..........??? (What is the or combination to avoid Microstutters?) Its proberly because the card is putting to its limit but i dont O/C it and have not touch the CCC overdrive Do you use manualy fan control in the CCC? /Michael

If you're looking for a silver bullet for stutters, you won't find it. If you ask 10 people, you will get 15 conflicting opinions on the best way to resolve them. I would suggest googling "FSX stutters", and you will run head long into threads discussing this issue. There are a number of hardware and configuration variables, so expect that you will have to experiment to find what works best for you.

Michael, google bufferpools because that has a definite impact on the stutters. -mike davis

Funny that... i have for the first time in 5 years reinstalled and flew FS 2004 and added a payware Q WINGS 757, 60 PLUS FPS in the VC and smooth.... well silk is an understatement and what a great sensation of flying.. WOW, it just goes to show FSX and new aircraft may be better looking with all its effects and looks but as i said before if you lay out a buffet fit or a king but cant eat it all what,s the point... Hey remember VHS V BEATTERMAX... VHS won hands down because it made sure videos where more available in shops?,not because it was a better system, lessons to be learnt perhaps..james.

looking at your computer specs if you ran unlimited you would be way in the hundreds with FS9. I am running a Q6600 @ 2.75mhz and it took many hoursof experimentation and tweaking to get FSX to an acceptable limit. -Mike Davis

A good point indeed. I think alot of simmers have to realize tweaking, no matter what hardware or software you are running makes the simulation much more enjoyable.

I bet if you scale back the effects on FSX to the same level as FS9 you could get very acceptable framerates and fly the NGX with VC, I'm just say'in!

The NGX is spectacular, period. The only thing missing is the alternate flashing landing lights that Southwest uses. LOL.

Hi again, Yep you are on to something here. Usepools=o gives me better frames but poor stutter experience RejectTreshold=131072 by Bojete´s tweak. What does this tells us? should i try another value or leave it ? Does usepools=0 stressing the GPU more than RejectTreshold? Thanks Michael

Michael! If you haven´t used Bojote´s fix then you could set up Affinity mask yourself.I found this info on the net somewhere:1) load up your standard Windows calculator, set it to scientific mode.2) put it to Binary(BIN) so you can only input 1s and 0s3) figure out which cores you want to use. Remeber them are backwards to 1110 = use core 3,2, and1 but not Core 04) with 1110 in the window switch the calculator back to Dec (Decimal) and voila' your affinity maskvalue1110 = 141010100 = 84, here on a hyperthreaded system FSX would ignore the first core, and use only theactual(non-hyperthreaded cores), the first digit of this number which would be a zero is not displayed).11111100 = 252, here The real Core 3,2,and 1 and their hyperthreads are used, Core 0 and itshyperthread is ignored.See, clear as mud.../ Leffe
